best and newest car i have owned. Has electrical issues but nothing i couldnt fix. purchased this car for 2000.00 with a salvage title from the state of AK. matience and repairs are fairly easy to do for a woman!!Dec 28, 2014

Performance- My car has had some work done to it. A staged two clutch with a lighter flywheel, cold air intake, header, and exhaust. The car gets great gas mileage, Im over 200,200 miles and still getting over 33 mpg.
Maintenance on the car is great, all the parts are to remove and get to. Most of the bolts are 10 mm, so it makes live easier. When I replaced all the coolant hoses, the dealer had them is stock and was cheaper then auto stores.Oct 08, 2012

The car is the 4 cylinder, but I added a cold air intake and it is pretty quick! The
build quality is great and nothing is falling apart or breaking down. It is very
affordable to own and I get 29-30mpg on the freeway and about 25 on the city

love this car fun and fast just 1 minor problem i need to get checked out. The six speed is a blast and the v6 has enough power to play around with very tight in the corners and good acceleration. lots of leg room leather interior and exhaust sounds greatAug 18, 2010

This car was quick, easy to handle and very attractive looking, but had some SERIOUS engineering problems. I had mine a total of 4,000 miles before the entire rotating mass in the transmission was destroyed. Apparently when the engineers at Hyundai designed the transmission, they didn't take into account that when the clutch was completely let out, the clutch was not completely engaged. Finally, when the clutch failed, Hyundai refused to replace it under the factory warranty even though it was a flaw in their transmission that caused the premature failure of the clutch assembly. The Tiburon is a very attractive car. However, the stock Tiburons are garbage when it comes to horsepower. In order to get anywhere near 300 WHP you'll need to spend thousands on forced induction. The car is more for looks, then it is for speed and power.Nov 05, 2009

The Tiburon GT handles very well. I own a manual transmission, so the control is significantly better. The acceleration is great, braking is very controlled, and handling is very good. The car rides quite low and wide, so it corners very well. I've had a few passengers comment on the interior appearance, how the dashboard looks like it belongs on an airplane, and that's what it was intended to look like. I like the interior. The car is supposedly tested at getting 19 mpg city/22 mpg highway, but I've never had it that bad. I average between 25 and 28 mpg, mostly highway, and for one rather long trip, the car averaged 30 (!!!) mpg. That's impressive for a sports car in my book.Oct 12, 2009

Drives very nice. exterior is very sleak and eye catching. Great gas mileage for a 2dr sports car. teh build quailty is also great i ahve not needed any repairs other then basic matience. This car is a very fun car to drive.Jul 14, 2009

It looks sick and handles fairly well. I love that fact that it has been lowered about two inches so the center of gravity is now lower. And yes it is extremely fun to drive. I really wish that it was a manual though Jun 30, 2009

Beautiful car, had a problem with the clutch but it was fixed with an aftermarket clutch and flywheel. Not the fastest car on the block, but smooth and handles excellently. Cheap to buy and insure, and haven't had any problems other than the clutch. Gas mileage is more than acceptable. My car is the 6 speed SE and it's been fun to drive and own, except for the clutch issue. That set me back a grand.Jun 14, 2009

I loved this car when I had it. It was my first new car and I did all the customizing (of course with the help of my brother and brother-in-law!). It was great at taking off (thanks to the V6 engine and stick shift). Over 4 years and 65,000 miles, it hardly needed a thing. Everyone loved the look of it too! Due to growing up and buying groceries and things though, I decided to sell it and get a more practical car (which is still awesome!)Feb 26, 2009

The cars nice, it looks good. The engine could be quiter, but over all its ok. The tip tronic is good, but you have to learn how to use it. Insurance is not so bad, and its a blast to drive. The throttle is very responives. the gas is ok, but once you drive in higher rpms, not so much.Nov 04, 2008

A bang for the buck. A 2.5 liter four banger with 161hp. enough acceleration to glue you to the seat. Zero tourque steer on the FF platform. Tight track quality handling. The handling is great and acceleration is very good for a small engine. Gas mileage is quite good even though I am a bit of a leadfoot.
I dislike the fact that there is no air conditioning and it is like a furnace when the sun is shining. Also, because the back windows don't open, the air flow is very poor.

well, this is the thing, for the price this car is good but when it come to it competition like for example the acura rsx, the acura is better in everyway, more precisley build quality, the hyunda i has lots of sqeaks and all plastic dosnet feel olid, but what i do like is the sound of the v6 and the handling it grips very well. and very table at high speeds.Apr 08, 2008

If Hyundai built an airplane, I'd ride my bicycle. This was my first brand new car, where to begin first to second didn't syncro, 3 windshields, 8 wiper blades, 10 tires, 2 sets of headlights, and fog lights, poor air flow with windows down, slow, heavy clutch, no ABS, terrible in snow, spend the extra money and get the GT with the 6 speed, cruised 70mph in 5th gear at 3600 rpmMar 17, 2008

Constant ticking. Worse when pressing the gas.
2004 Hyundai Tiburon. 5 Speed. 100k miles(second motor) the first one ended up throwing a rod bearing. The cause I feel is something to do with the ticking noise. To eliminate reasonable suspicion.. Oil is at the proper level. Coolant and fluids full. And not due for an oil change for another 2500 miles. The car when started from cold start, has an intense rattling sound in the motor but when the idle drops the sound partially diminishes but is still distinguishable, especially to a mechanic. When I put it into gear and drive beyond 2500 RPM the engine rattle intensifies. (THAT IS 3500 RPM BEFORE A RED LINE BTW) Now when cruising, constant pressure to the pedal the sound gets lighter, but under a load like a hill or starting from stop whereas you need to accelerate the engine rattles even more. It sounds pretty sketchy, especially when I drive and decide I need to pass someone and shift at higher RPM to accelerate quicker. Its insane and I just can't grasp that this is my second motor in this car with in the first four days of purchasing this AS IS vehicle. Can someone help??????????? Thank you!
