What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2003 Hyundai Tiburon seem to enjoy its sporty styling and fun driving experience. Many appreciate its handling, acceleration, and fuel economy, especially with the manual transmission. However, some concerns arise around reliability, especially after higher mileage, as well as build quality issues. A few drivers have noted a lack of power in certain situations and problems with interior features."
I love how the Tiburon looks and feels. It's a great sports car and handles very well. Being 6'2" I was worried that I may not fit in the drivers seat since a lot of older sports cars are not made for tall people but I had no problem with the Hyundai. It is possible to have people in the back seat but not recommended. There really isn't any leg room back there but if needed in a pinch it's possible to squish em in. Overall I love my Tiburon and am very happy with my purchase.
February 27, 2015Performance- Acceleration is good being a stick shift. Brakes are the bomb just like you would like them to be. Handling is also perfect while driving at high speeds or just cruising around town. Build Quality- This car has not needed repairs whatsoever. Cost of Ownership- gas mileage is awesome! Fun Factor- this car is fun to drive. Would recommmed this car to anyone with sporty desires.

March 2, 2008I love the looks and handling of my car. It is the first manual transmission that I have ever driven and I love it. The power is always there when I need it and it is a blast to drive. I love to race other cars on the road and my car has enough power to win every time.
February 11, 2008I love this car. It's the fastest car I've ever owned. I love everything about it but the back seat can get cramped. I don't ever have anyone back there so that's not that big a deal to me though.
November 5, 2014It gets the job done. It's most definitely not a performance car, but you can certainly feel the torque in second gear around 3500rpms to 5500ish. It feels very solid on the road even over 100mph. Build Quality: Haven't had any major problems with the car other than having to replace the AC and the Clutch around 60,000 miles. The timing belt snapped around 65,000 miles. The interior plastic pieces are peeling and showing major wear, even though it has all been cleaned regularly (maybe it's the cleaner I've used in the past). As long as you take care of the Tib, it'll take care of you. Appearance: The clearcoat on the spoiler, gas cap and rims has been weathered badly. I had a friend spray paint the rims and gas cap, which covered up the nasty peeling that the paint was doing. However, I don't want a gunmetal spoiler and I've considered removing it, but then I'll have to relocate the center brake light. Cost of Ownership: Everything so far has been covered by the 100,000 mile warranty aside from the clutch. I would recommend you go to a local repair shop for a clutch repair, as it cost me over $2,000 through the dealership since it was not under warranty and they claim it's a special "dual plated" clutch or something along the lines. Fun Factor: The car handles very well and can pass effectively without downshifting or bouncing off the rev-limiter since it has low-range torque unlike other cars in it's class. Not only is it fun to drive, the back seats fold down for plenty of storage space.
December 3, 2009Nice car, but I totally upgraded everything with KDM parts and some custom stuff to make it closer to what I wanted. A great buy for a sports car in comparison to the competetion (which was similar in quality and more money).
July 7, 2009great car for the price and very fun to drive
May 5, 2008Very quick in low gears, fast in high gears. Great to sit in, leather interior, feels great. Moon roof is always fun, and the sound is premium. Way to go for a relatively inexpensive sports car.
February 13, 2008Fantastic car! Great around corners and a terrific daily driver. And it doesn't break the bank when refueling. But at 6'2" my head grazes the ceiling. A nuissance, though it won't be an issue to someone of average height. Great transmission, clutch is very responsive.
