For 1994, the Mazda MX-3 sports coupe was available in both Base and GS versions. The Base model received a boost in power, getting a new 1.6-liter, double-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine that produced 105 horsepower, an increase of 17 horsepower over the previous year. The GS model was power by a 130-horsepower, 1.8-liter V6, which was the smallest V6 engine in the industry. In addition, a passenger-side airbag was added to the list of standard features for both models. Other standard equipment for the Base model included power brakes, power steering, power exterior mirrors, a tilt steering wheel, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system. The GS added a rear spoiler, a tighter sport suspension, and alloy wheels. Options included air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, a sunroof, and anti-lock brakes. Drivers liked the MX-3's handling, styling, reliability, quickness, and economy. On the downside, drivers noted that the back seat could be cramped, and that replacement parts could be be expensive.

i love everything about it... amazing speed for the car that it is, looks great,amazing handling, lots of mods to be done and for being 15 years old its still in great shape... the cost for insurance is low, doesnt need many repairs although it does tend to squeek and rattle quite a bit when you relle get going... i would recommend this car to anyoneNov 02, 2009

you will know its mine all additions have been done by me. you save so much money when you do the work yourself!!! still have some time to go yet before it is finished. everything takes a little bit of time effort and don't forget about the money!!!Aug 11, 2009

Its a great car to re-build into a car that you would love. Great first car. in a tank i usually get 480 km, interior i love, only because i could take it apart a give it another colour to my liking.Jul 02, 2009

I love everything about my car. Its good handling, its nice, its a nice 2 door and I got a good plan for the interior to be finished and the stereo. I love my car..especially now. Its beautiful....I can't wait til everyone sees it..Apr 10, 2009

ca freine pas super...cest tres vache...oubliez les 4 cylindre stock cest plate..mais cest une belle voiture extremement économique :) beaucoup de palisir a me balader partout :) La version V6 devrait vous apporter plus de plaisirs et ca freine mieux avec des disques aux 4 rouesMar 01, 2009

It looked good when I bought it and I love its handling abilities. It's fun to drive and a comfortable fit. And the thing is at 210k and still running fine. My only complaint is a big one: it is the slowest car I have ever driven. Cool but slow.Oct 29, 2008

I bought car in August 2008. Great on gas mileage. I get 28 to 36. Mine is actually black. It has the same rims as in the picture. I have done anything special yet. It has a Spectre Air Filter Intake. It has a big ol' Pipe. I t is very loud. It has falken tires. Most fun thing is it is a 5 speed.Sep 15, 2008

I like the fact that my car is manual but the thing that i hate on this car is the fact of what my uncle did which pisses me off and that fact that he didnt tell me or my dad that the car had frame damage and in a car like that it is a waste.Aug 24, 2008

The most head turning car I ever had. Really pretty. Average performance (0-100 km/h in 8.5s). Very cool sound with V6 engine and Trush exhaust, but was always getting tickets for that. I sold it for a brand new car, because she had 10 years old. Big Cons : No A/C !Aug 23, 2008

It has body damage, someone backed into my passenger side, there's a lot of sun fading to it. it also has one rust spot. the engine is starting to run a bit wierd but nothing to be alarmed about. It has an in-line 4, 1.6L engine in it, with aftermarket exhaust. New radiator, new tires, and the best part.....244,000+ miles, lol.Apr 21, 2008

It is small, but don't underestimate what's under the hood. Great performance comes from polished cylinder head, K&N intake manifold, special distributor wiring and equiped with 17" super low-profile racing tires. Looking? Yes! I bought the car bout 5 years ago now. 1400cash. Didn't need nothin for safety or e-test. Since then I have started to mod it. Euro tails/blue reverse lights, slammed 3.5 inches but rides like crap due to 3 blown struts. 4.5 inch muffler, blue engine hoses, headlights. After market stereo. Premier cd deck, unfortuantly kenwood subs which are bout 7 years old now but still hits around 135bs. kicker Tweeters and PPI mids. to this date things i've had to put on the car..driverside drive shaft (otherside needs replaced too) fuel tank, window crank, and jus the everyday problems like breaks and tires. Been an awesome car till recently. has 324000 kms on it. Currently overheats if idles to long. spent nearly a grand into fixin the over-heatin problem which still isnt fixed. the headgasket, and thermostate was replaced but didnt fix the issue. The car is also burnin oil for some reason since the garage had it. My headlight module is now not workin properly. I need all struts replaced as well as tires (not due to lowering) Driverside window crank sticken again. In the near future plan on doin engine swap. hopefully turbo charged but we'll see how much lol. Love the car but not cheap to fix. Body's still in amazing condition. Plan on gettin a bodykit, rims, paint, shaved doors/logos, custom interior work, new stereo (MTX) and civic projection headlights. Eventually lambo doors and the whole 9 yards. goal is 350horse. Car handels extremly well jus not in the rain or snow, could be due to worn tires and stiff suspension..well whats left of it. Look for my car in car shows in the future..i hope. Any suggestions? how to remove ignition lock cylinder with no keys
i just bought a 94 mx3 v6 from a friends brother who got it at storage auction with no keys. i would like to know how to remove the lock cylinder to replace it with one that has a key, iv had it turning over but the fuel pump is dead, i dont think these cars use a chipped key at all so i bench tested the pump and its shot. but i do need to relpace the cylinder to get the wheel to turn

Where is crankshaft position sensor on a Mazda MX-3 GS 1.8l Automatic
I have bought a used tested distributor and still do not have a spark when I try to start my MX-3 GS. From my own research I have narrowed it down to the crankshaft position sensor. Every picture or drawing I see of this sensor is to much of a close up and I can't really tell where it is on the engine. Please let me know where I can find it. Keep in mind, I have just moderate engine knowledge. Thanks in advance.
