How much does the Subaru BRZ cost in today's market?

Used Subaru BRZ prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Subaru BRZ's current nationwide average price is $27,047, and over the past year that nationwide average reached a low of $22,394. Recently, prices have eased on the 2024 models, while other recent model years have held firm or risen.

Is the Subaru BRZ a good car?

Yes — the Subaru BRZ is a strong pick if you want a lightweight sports coupe that emphasizes balance, agility, and driver involvement.

The all-generations owner rating is 4.6/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the BRZ for its fun driving experience, agile handling, and responsive steering. Reviewers also repeatedly call out its stylish design and overall value, especially if you want a true sports-car feel without moving into a much pricier performance class.

Expert reviews rate the 2015 and 2022 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs that come up in expert reviews are the cramped back seat, limited power, and, on some years, technology that trails newer rivals. Even so, the BRZ’s core appeal stays centered on sharp handling and an engaging chassis.

32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Subaru BRZ models reliable?

Owners consistently describe the BRZ as fun to drive, well balanced, and rewarding to live with if you value handling and steering feel. The model’s owner ratings stay strong across the lineup, which supports its reputation as a dependable enthusiast choice.

• Owners rate the Subaru BRZ between 4 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is tied more to how the car was driven and maintained than to the model’s basic formula, so a careful history check matters.

What should I look for when buying a used Subaru BRZ?

Across all model years, at 70.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist tech on automatic-transmission 2022 BRZ models, with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, and automatic high beams.
• Infotainment: A standard 8-inch touchscreen and digital gauge cluster with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
• Fuel efficiency: 25 mpg combined (21 mpg city, 30 mpg highway) with the automatic transmission and 22 mpg combined (20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway) with the manual transmission.

Which Subaru BRZ trim should I buy?

The 2022 Subaru BRZ offers these trims:

• Premium: The entry trim brings the BRZ’s core rear-wheel-drive sports-car formula, 17-inch wheels with Michelin Primacy tires, a standard six-speed manual or available automatic, leather upholstery, and the standard digital displays and 8-inch touchscreen. It suits you if you want the most affordable way into the lineup.
• Limited: This trim adds 18-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, Ultrasuede upholstery with red accent stitching, dual-mode heaters, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, steering responsive headlights, and reverse automatic braking on automatic models. It is the best-value trim if you want the richest mix of comfort, grip, and driver-assistance features.
• BRZ: The model’s core identity is the lightweight, rear-wheel-drive coupe with a 2.4-liter boxer-four, a six-speed manual or automatic, and a chassis tuned for balance and precision.

What Subaru BRZ do most buyers choose?

The Subaru BRZ years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2022.

Those higher-volume years tend to be popular because they combine newer features, broader availability, and a strong mix of pricing and condition. They also give you more choices across trims and equipment levels, which makes it easier to find the right BRZ for your budget.

What is the Subaru BRZ's resale value?

The BRZ’s recent price movement is mixed, with some years easing and others edging upward. That gives used buyers a few opportunities to find softer pricing, while the strongest examples continue to show steady demand.

The 2022 and 2023 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2015, 2023, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.
