CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Toyota Sienna
overall

Summary
With 1,885 currently listed for sale and an average price of $47,770, 33.3% of 2025 Toyota Siennas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Toyota Sienna 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.33 / 10.
94.2% of 2025 Sienna models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Sienna stands out in the minivan segment by pairing a standard hybrid powertrain with practical everyday usability. It is also noted for promising 35 to 36 mpg in combined driving, which makes it appealing to buyers who want to save money on gas. Beyond efficiency, it offers an available all-wheel-drive system for extra traction, and the Woodland Edition trim adds half an inch of extra ground clearance for light off-roading capability.
It is also designed to make family life simpler. Even though its maximum cargo capacity falls short of rivals, you never need to remove the second-row seats to use it, which adds convenience when hauling people and gear. The Sienna’s strengths also include a great ride quality, a quiet cabin, and easy-to-use technology. On the downside, it has an irritating transmission, poor real-world fuel economy, and less outright load space than rivals, so its appeal is strongest for shoppers who value comfort, efficiency, and versatility over maximum cargo room.

Great handling car with an amazing amount of flexible storage. The XSE trim provides extra features for our sporting needs including the hidden tow and Hybrid makes this fuel efficient. No range anxiety when there is >800km on a full tank.

We looked at some platinum and XLE models. While platinum has built-in fridge and built in vacuum but it's also more pricey. While XLE doesn't have ottoman and second row entertainment unit. This model fits perfectly for my family's needs

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and an expert rating of 6.33/10, the 2025 Toyota Sienna makes a strong case if you want a family-focused minivan that emphasizes efficiency and everyday usability. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.
The Sienna’s appeal is rooted in its standard hybrid setup, available all-wheel drive, and practical family packaging. It also stands out for a quiet cabin and a smooth ride, which matter a lot if you spend long stretches behind the wheel with passengers aboard.
The trade-offs are worth weighing: the transmission can be irritating, real-world fuel economy fell short in testing, and cargo space trails some rivals. Even so, if you value comfort, efficiency, and versatility more than maximum load room, it fits that use case well.
32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Sienna’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward hybrid-only setup and Toyota’s emphasis on efficiency and everyday durability. The hybrid powertrain is described as quiet in normal driving, and the vehicle’s practical design is aimed at reducing day-to-day hassle for families.
ToyotaCare complimentary scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles adds a useful ownership perk, especially if you want lower early maintenance costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the van has been maintained properly and hasn’t been worn down by heavy family-duty use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at higher-mileage family haulers. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy interior wear, and whether the van’s technology and driver-assistance features are functioning as expected.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Woodland Edition, and Platinum. Entry-level models have smaller displays, while higher-spec versions get a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen; the LE also has three-zone climate control instead of four-zone climate control.
- Powertrain: The only powertrain is a hybrid system with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, and available all-wheel drive adds a rear-mounted electric motor for extra traction.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.
- Infotainment: Higher-spec models get a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and connected services through Toyota Audio Multimedia. The system also supports over-the-air-style connected features through its subscription-based services.
- Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating for the FWD test model was 36 mpg in combined driving, and Toyota says the model is designed to deliver 35 to 36 mpg in combined driving.
Which 2025 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Woodland Edition, Platinum.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live with the smaller display and three-zone climate control. It gives you the core Sienna experience without paying for the richer tech and comfort upgrades.
- XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more upscale everyday experience without pushing you into the highest price tiers. It’s the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of comfort, convenience, and value.
- XSE: Choose this if you want the racier look and the sport-tuned suspension. It’s the trim for buyers who want the Sienna to feel a little more engaging, even if the minivan’s driving character still stays comfort-first.
- Limited: This is the right step up if you want more premium equipment and a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top trim. It suits shoppers who care about comfort and features more than price.
- Woodland Edition: Pick this if you want the extra ground clearance and the light off-roading capability mentioned in the model’s description. It’s the most specialized choice for buyers who want a little more ruggedness.
- Platinum: This is the top trim and the one to buy if you want the most technology and luxury content. It adds the richest feature set, including the upscale interior touches and the most advanced convenience equipment.
The safety package is broad across the lineup, but the LE has a few equipment gaps versus higher trims, especially in climate and display hardware.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,996 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.61% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 94.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $46,252, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $47,562 sits slightly below last year's $50,927.
That price movement suggests the Sienna has softened enough to help you buy more favorably today, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays soft. For you, that can be a plus on the purchase side, especially if you plan to keep the van for several years before reselling.
The model’s strong efficiency and family-friendly reputation should help support demand over time. Still, resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the van has been used hard as a daily family shuttle.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna safe?
The 2025 Toyota Sienna earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, but it also earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star protection for the driver in a frontal impact.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard on all Siennas.
The main caveat is that the Sienna does not use Toyota’s newer TSS 3.0 setup, and the NHTSA frontal result is weaker than the overall score suggests. That means you should still stay engaged, especially when using adaptive cruise control in heavier traffic.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.61% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2025 adds new rear-seat reminder technology and keeps the hybrid efficiency, AWD availability, and family-friendly packaging.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $45,126, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $47,562 average.
- It emphasizes efficiency, comfort, and everyday usefulness.
The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the latest updates and a still-softening market, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2024 is the smarter value play as long as you’re comfortable giving up the newer-year updates.
