CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Toyota Sienna
overall

Summary
With 2,049 currently listed for sale and an average price of $47,280, 32.7% of 2025 Toyota Siennas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Toyota Sienna 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.33 / 10.
94.2% of 2025 Sienna models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Toyota Sienna stands out in the minivan segment by pairing a standard hybrid powertrain with practical everyday usability. It is also noted for promising 35 to 36 mpg in combined driving, which makes it appealing to buyers who want to save money on gas. Beyond efficiency, it offers an available all-wheel-drive system for extra traction, and the Woodland Edition trim adds half an inch of extra ground clearance for light off-roading capability.
It is also designed to make family life simpler. Even though its maximum cargo capacity falls short of rivals, you never need to remove the second-row seats to use it, which adds convenience when hauling people and gear. The Sienna’s strengths also include a great ride quality, a quiet cabin, and easy-to-use technology. On the downside, it has an irritating transmission, poor real-world fuel economy, and less outright load space than rivals, so its appeal is strongest for shoppers who value comfort, efficiency, and versatility over maximum cargo room.

Great handling car with an amazing amount of flexible storage. The XSE trim provides extra features for our sporting needs including the hidden tow and Hybrid makes this fuel efficient. No range anxiety when there is >800km on a full tank.

We looked at some platinum and XLE models. While platinum has built-in fridge and built in vacuum but it's also more pricey. While XLE doesn't have ottoman and second row entertainment unit. This model fits perfectly for my family's needs

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.
The Sienna’s appeal is strongest if you want a minivan that prioritizes efficiency, comfort, and everyday usability. It pairs a standard hybrid powertrain with a quiet cabin and a smooth ride, and it also offers available all-wheel drive for extra traction. The trade-offs are that the transmission can be irritating and the cargo space trails rivals.
The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 33.4% of listings marked as good or great deals.
Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Sienna’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward hybrid setup and Toyota’s emphasis on practical, family-friendly durability. Its performance notes point to a quiet highway manner and immediate electric torque that helps it avoid feeling slow in normal driving. ToyotaCare complimentary scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles also helps reduce early ownership costs.
That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to transmission behavior, fuel-economy expectations, and overall condition before committing.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on how the powertrain behaves in everyday driving, whether the cabin electronics work properly, and whether the vehicle shows signs of heavy family use or cargo wear.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Woodland Edition, and Platinum. Entry-level models have smaller displays, while higher-spec versions add a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen; the Platinum also gets a 10-inch head-up display and a camera-based digital rearview mirror.
- Powertrain: The Sienna uses a hybrid system with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, and available all-wheel drive adds a rear-mounted electric motor for extra traction.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.
- Infotainment: Higher-spec models get a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and connected-services capability. The system can also be paired with a 12-speaker JBL audio setup on the Platinum.
- Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating for the FWD test model was 36 mpg in combined driving, though real-world testing returned 26.3 mpg.
Which 2025 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Woodland Edition, and Platinum.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the Sienna lineup and can live with the smaller display setup.
- XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it moves you into a more complete family-hauler setup without jumping all the way to the pricier upper trims.
- XSE: Choose this if you want a racier look and a sport-tuned suspension, but keep expectations realistic about driving excitement.
- Limited: This trim is for shoppers who want a more upscale feel and more of the Sienna’s convenience and tech content without going fully top-tier.
- Woodland Edition: Pick this if you want the extra ground clearance and the light off-roading capability mentioned for this trim.
- Platinum: This is the most feature-rich version, with the 12.3-inch displays, head-up display, digital rearview mirror, and premium audio setup.
The Sienna’s safety package is built around Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, and all Siennas also include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,056 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 94.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $46,234, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $47,211 sits slightly below last year's $50,968.
That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also temper near-term resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your eventual return will depend more on condition, mileage, and trim desirability than on broad market momentum alone.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna safe?
The 2025 Toyota Sienna earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, but it also earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star ratings for driver protection in a frontal impact. No minivans earn a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on all Siennas, and the 2025 model adds rear-seat reminder technology.
The main caveat is that the frontal crash result is weaker than the overall NHTSA score suggests, so you should weigh that carefully if crash protection is a top priority.
Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It adds rear-seat reminder technology and keeps the hybrid, AWD, and family-friendly packaging that define this year.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $44,968, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $47,211 average.
- It emphasizes efficiency, comfort, and everyday usefulness.
The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year advantages and are comfortable paying a bit more, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2024 is the smarter value play, especially if you can find one in strong condition with the features you want.
