How much does the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser cost?

Prices have softened 1.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,056 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Land Cruisers to compare.

Is the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It is built for traveling almost anywhere at almost any time, with a two-row midsize SUV layout, a turbocharged hybrid powertrain, and a clear focus on off-road capability. The trade-offs are just as clear: the expert review calls out poor fuel economy, poor handling, and an uncomfortable back seat.

That makes it a strong fit if you want a capable, stylish SUV that leans toward adventure and utility rather than efficiency or sporty road manners. The 34.8% good-or-great deal share suggests you can still find competitive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Land Cruiser is described as a rugged, body-on-frame SUV with a turbocharged hybrid setup and standard four-wheel drive hardware that supports its durability-minded mission. Its powertrain is tuned more for supplying power than efficiency, and the expert review notes that it feels powerful and responsive in daily driving.

Toyota also includes two years or 25,000 miles of complimentary scheduled service, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a vehicle built for capability can be more expensive to live with if you prioritize fuel use and ride comfort.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the truck’s off-road and tech features work as expected. A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful if the SUV has seen trail use, since you’ll want to check for underbody wear, suspension issues, and signs of hard use. Focus on cabin condition too, because the back seat and interior materials are part of the ownership experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 1958 trim uses a retro look with cloth seats, basic equipment, and one of three paint colors, while the Land Cruiser trim adds a more modern, upscale appearance, larger screens, more colors, and critical off-roading hardware and software. The Land Cruiser trim is the better-value choice if you want the fuller feature set.
• Powertrain: Every model uses Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid system with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is tuned more for power than efficiency, and the review notes that real-world fuel economy fell well short of expectations.
• Safety package: Every model includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian, cyclist, and motorcyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a road sign reader, automatic high-beam headlights, and Predictive Driving Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are separate from the suite, and the Premium Package adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: The Land Cruiser trim upgrades to dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and connected services. Drive Connect adds cloud-based navigation and a conversational digital assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating is 23 mpg combined, but the test vehicle returned 15.7 mpg in real-world driving.

Which 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser is offered in 2 trim levels: 1958, Land Cruiser.

Here's the short version:

• 1958: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Land Cruiser name at the lowest price, but with a more basic cabin, smaller screens, and fewer amenities. It makes sense if you want the badge and capability while keeping costs down.
• Land Cruiser: This is the trim to buy. It adds the nicer interior, larger dual 12.3-inch displays, more colors, and the off-road hardware and software that make the SUV feel fully realized.

The safety package is standard across both trims, while the Premium Package adds extra driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,056 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.56% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $61,690, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser's resale value?

The current average of $61,690 sits slightly below last year's $62,666.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the Land Cruiser still has strong demand from shoppers who want capability and a premium feel, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser safe?

The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser earns an overall rating of four stars out of five from NHTSA, receiving four stars in the frontal-impact test, five-stars in side-impact testing, and a three-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian, cyclist, and motorcyclist detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a road sign reader, automatic high-beam headlights, and Predictive Driving Assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are separate from the suite, and the Premium Package adds front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.

The expert review also notes that lane-centering and adaptive cruise control struggled in some conditions, so you should pay attention to how the system behaves during a test drive.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 keeps the redesigned 250-series formula and adds a more affordable used-market entry point than many shoppers expect.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $59,384, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $61,690 average.
• It is the all-new return of Toyota’s original SUV, with retro styling and strong off-road ability.

The bottom line: If you want the newer used-market sweet spot, the 2025 is the better default choice because it combines strong inventory, solid deal availability, and the updated Land Cruiser formula. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the better value play.

How does the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser compare to the 2025 Ford Expedition?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2025 Toyota Land Cruiser:

• Pros: Stylish design, Impressive off-roading capability, Easy-to-use technology.
• Cons: Poor fuel economy, Poor handling, Uncomfortable back seat.

2025 Ford Expedition:

• Pros: Powerful engines, Impressive technology.
• Cons: Thirsty engines, Tech requires additional subscription.

Our experts score the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 6.8/10 and the 2025 Ford Expedition 7.5/10. The Land Cruiser is the better pick if you care more about off-road ability and easy-to-use tech, while the Expedition leans harder into power and broader tech appeal. The Expedition’s higher expert score and stronger engine output make it the more conventional family SUV choice, but the Land Cruiser has a more distinctive mission and a more rugged personality.
