Is the 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid a good car?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid stands out as a three-row family SUV that pairs hybrid efficiency with the practicality many shoppers want from a midsize crossover. It offers seating for up to eight depending on configuration, and its cabin is designed around family use, with useful cargo flexibility when the second and third rows are folded down. Toyota also gives it a reputation for dependability, which is a major part of its appeal for buyers looking for a long-term family hauler.

For 2025, the Highlander Hybrid was only available with the e-AWD system. The model also comes with a standard hybrid powertrain and a CVT automatic transmission, plus a standard suite of technology and safety equipment that includes Android Auto or Apple CarPlay compatibility and Toyota SafetySense 2.0. That makes it feel well equipped for everyday use, especially for buyers who want traction and confidence in poor weather without giving up fuel efficiency.

There are a few tradeoffs to keep in mind. The Highlander Hybrid is not the most exciting vehicle to drive, and its third row is tight enough that it is best suited to kids. Even so, its combination of space, efficiency, standard safety features, and Toyota reliability makes the 2025 Highlander Hybrid a strong choice for shoppers who value practicality over flash.

34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

The 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid stands out as a three-row family SUV that pairs hybrid efficiency with the practicality many shoppers want from a midsize crossover. What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the seller’s description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you plan to keep the SUV for the long haul or want extra confidence in the hybrid system and family-use wear points. Focus on overall condition, including interior wear, cargo-area use, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting for a dramatic discount.

• Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 426 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.56% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $49,756, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $49,833 sits slightly below last year's $51,673.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy with less pressure today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained than on broad market momentum alone. If you keep the SUV clean, documented, and accident-free, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.56% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 Highlander Hybrid makes the most sense if you want a practical, efficient three-row SUV with strong everyday usability and a market that still offers some deal potential. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2025 is the better primary target if you want the latest year in this range with a softer price trend and strong clean-inventory availability.
