Is the 2025 Porsche 911 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Porsche 911 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

The 2025 Porsche 911 is the refreshed 992.2-generation model, and the changes focus on the face, interior, and power output rather than a wholesale redesign. That lines up with its appeal as a sports car that still delivers excellent overall performance, a comfortable and simplistic interior, and solid daily livability.

The trade-offs are real, though: highway wind buffeting can be noticeable, the tech can feel slightly confusing, and the base model no longer offers a manual transmission.

With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Porsche 911 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Porsche 911 is built around a familiar rear-engine layout and a powertrain that emphasizes strong performance without sacrificing everyday usability. Its expert evaluation also points to a comfortable ride, solid daily livability, and a well-sorted driving experience, all of which are good signs for long-term ownership confidence.

The performance notes also suggest a durable, well-developed package: the car’s twin-turbo flat-six, eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and standard adaptive dampers are all presented as polished and confidence-inspiring rather than experimental. Porsche also includes standard traffic sign recognition, pedestrian protection, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic competence and more about the cost and complexity that can come with a high-end sports car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Porsche 911?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with performance hardware and premium options. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the car has been used in a way that matches your expectations for a sports car.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Carrera stands out for its handsome looks, brilliant driving dynamics, and standard dual-clutch gearbox, but it no longer offers a manual transmission. It also keeps the interior simple and clean, with a modest infotainment display and a layout that emphasizes usability.
• Powertrain: The 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six makes 388 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, and it is paired with an eight-speed PDK. The car’s performance is strong enough to deliver a 3.9-second 0-60 mph run and a 183 mph top speed.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes traffic sign recognition, pedestrian protection, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. The Premium Package adds adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera system with active parking assistance, and lane-change assist.
• Infotainment: The center screen measures 10.9 inches, and wireless Apple CarPlay is supported. The system is described as simple and relatively barebones, with clear layout and strong haptic feedback.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-rated fuel economy is 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Which 2025 Porsche 911 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Porsche 911 is offered in 5 trim levels: Carrera, Carrera Cabriolet, Carrera T, Carrera S, and Carrera GTS T-Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• Carrera: This is the best-value choice if you want the core 911 experience, because it delivers the base car’s excellent performance, ride quality, handling, and braking without pushing you into the pricier upper trims. It also gives you the clean, simple interior and the standard dual-clutch gearbox.
• Carrera Cabriolet: Choose this if you want open-air driving and are willing to pay more for the convertible body style. It keeps the 911’s everyday usability and performance focus, but the content points to the coupe as the stronger value play.
• Carrera T: This is the trim to consider if you want the manual transmission, since that option returns here. It makes sense for buyers who value a more traditional sports-car feel over the base model’s automatic-only setup.
• Carrera S: This trim adds more power, with output rising to 473 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. It suits you if you want a stronger performance margin and are willing to pay for it.
• Carrera GTS T-Hybrid: This is the most advanced and most expensive of the group, with a 3.6-liter flat-six, larger turbochargers, and a plug-in hybrid system that lifts output to 523 horsepower and 449 lb-ft of torque. It is the right pick if you want the most performance and the newest hardware.

The safety package starts with traffic sign recognition, pedestrian protection, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking, while the Premium Package adds adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera system with active parking assistance, and lane-change assist.

What is the 2025 Porsche 911's resale value?

The current average of $228,525 sits slightly above last year's $218,000.

That upward move suggests the market is still willing to pay for this model year, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. The current price range also shows that buyers are still supporting values near the top of the market, not just at the bargain end.

For a future seller, that means a well-kept example should remain attractive if it is priced in line with condition and equipment. Strong demand and limited accident history in the market can help support resale strength over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

The 2025 Porsche 911 has not been tested by either the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

If you want more coverage, the Premium Package adds adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera system with active parking assistance, and lane-change assist.

One caveat is that these extra features are not standard, so you need the package to get the fuller safety setup.

Should I buy a 2025 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 98.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.83% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The refreshed 992.2 generation brings subtle updates to the face, interior, and power output while keeping the familiar rear-engine shape.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the 911 with subtle updates and strong market support, the 2025 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025’s refreshed hardware and strong demand make it the cleaner choice for most shoppers.
