Why it stands out
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler stands out because it stays true to its rugged, adventure-first identity. It offers the iconic looks and legendary off-road ability that define the nameplate, but it also remains somewhat out of step with the times. That contrast is part of its appeal: this is a vehicle built for buyers who want something rough, raw, and unrefined rather than polished and conventional.
For 2025, the Wrangler is available with two-door or four-door body styles, three engines, and seven trim levels. Standard power windows and door locks are now included across the lineup, and the V6/automatic drivetrain returns. Jeep also adds new colors called ’41, Mojito, and Joose. The Wrangler’s removable top and doors, along with drain holes in the floor, reinforce its easy-to-clean, go-anywhere character.
That same personality comes with tradeoffs. The Wrangler can be noisy, the ride quality is poor, and it is not a strong value for the money. Even so, its fun-to-drive nature and impressive off-roading capability make it appealing to buyers who prioritize capability and character over everyday refinement.

As a previous owner of a CJ7, and later a 1999 Wrangler, the 2025 Wrangler is very different. The clutch is feather light compared to any standard transmission I’ve ever driven. I love the ability to integrate my phone etc.. the Alpine stereo sounds good. The removable T top model sounds tight going down the road… Very little noise. The steering is easy yet responsive. The seats are comfortable and fit well even though I’m only 5’2” and my husband 6’1”. I wish the clutch were a bit more firm. But I’m sure I will get used to it and even prefer it overtime.

Really cool small SUV! I love the Utilitarian feel and aspect. Road noise wasn’t as bad as I expected and highway feel has change drastically over the years. Lots of power for its size with that V6

How much does the 2025 Jeep Wrangler cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $37,083 |
| Year-Round Low | $37,087.67 |
| Year-Round High | $44,796.73 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $44,621 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −16.89% |
Prices have softened 16.89% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 5,895 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability.
If you find a listing below $37,087.67, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler a good car?
Generally — the 2025 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4/5 user rating and a 5.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance and Technology.
It stands out for its iconic looks and legendary off-road ability, and it stays true to an adventure-first identity rather than chasing polish. That makes sense if you want something rough, raw, and unrefined, but it also means you should expect compromises in everyday refinement.
The trade-offs are clear: it can be noisy, the ride quality is poor, and it is not a strong value for the money. Even so, its fun-to-drive nature and impressive off-roading capability make it appealing if you prioritize capability and character over conventional comfort.
Good and great deals account for 33.2% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler reliable?
Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Wrangler is built around durability-minded, go-anywhere use, with removable top and doors and drain holes in the floor that reinforce its easy-to-clean character. Its rugged setup and standard four-wheel drive support the kind of ownership that leans more toward adventure than refinement.
It also has a turbocharged four-cylinder option that is described as a fine powerplant, aside from its nasal idle note and loud cooling fan. If you want a Wrangler that can handle dirt, weather, and messy use, the design supports that mission well.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the same ruggedness that makes it appealing can also mean more compromise in daily comfort and ownership satisfaction if you expect a conventional SUV experience.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Wrangler has seen trail use or heavy customization. Focus on overall condition, signs of hard use, and whether the equipment you want is actually present, since many desirable features are not standard.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup ranges from Sport to Rubicon 392, and the base Sport is the one most likely to leave out desirable safety features.
- Powertrain: You can choose between a 3.6-liter V6 with a six-speed manual and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic; the turbo four is marginally more fuel-efficient.
- Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on any Wrangler except the base Sport trim, while forward collision warning with automatic braking requires the Sahara.
- Infotainment: The Uconnect 5 system includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio preparation.
Which 2025 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 7 trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, Rubicon 392.
Here's the short version:
- Sport: This is the entry point, but it is also the trim most likely to feel stripped down if you want more convenience or safety equipment.
- Sport S: This is the best-value trim if you want a more usable daily setup, since it can add helpful convenience and safety options without jumping too far up the price ladder.
- Willys: Choose this if you want a more capability-focused personality without going all the way to the pricier upper trims.
- Sahara: This is the trim to target if you want the standard automatic transmission and the forward collision warning with automatic braking that comes with it.
- Rubicon: Pick this if off-road ability is your priority, since it is aimed at buyers who want the Wrangler’s trail-ready character in a more serious form.
- Rubicon X: This is for you if you want a more premium take on the Rubicon formula with additional equipment.
- Rubicon 392: This is the enthusiast choice, with a 470-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and a six-figure price tag.
The safety-package note to keep in mind is that blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on any Wrangler except the base Sport, while forward collision warning with automatic braking requires the Sahara.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.
- Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 5,895 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.89% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 94.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $37,087.67, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?
The current average of $37,083 sits slightly below last year's $44,621.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale will depend heavily on condition, trim, and how well the vehicle has been maintained and equipped.
Wrangler demand is still supported by its distinctive identity, but buyers in the used market will likely remain selective about price and equipment. If you buy well now, you give yourself a better chance of preserving value later.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler safe?
The Wrangler earns a Good rating in the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test and a Good rating for side-impact protection from IIHS. It also earns a four-star frontal-impact rating and a three-star rollover resistance rating from NHTSA.
It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.
The Wrangler’s safety equipment is uneven across the lineup. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on any Wrangler except the base Sport trim, while forward collision warning with automatic braking requires the Sahara. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality is also available on models with an automatic transmission.
One important caveat is the Marginal result in the small overlap frontal-impact test, where the Wrangler tipped onto its side. That is the key safety shortcoming to keep in mind if you are comparing it with more road-focused SUVs.
Should I buy a 2025 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.89% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- This year adds standard power windows and door locks across the lineup, plus new colors and the returning V6/automatic drivetrain.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $38,169, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $37,083 average.
- It adds a mid-cycle refresh focused on technology, safety, and refinement.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It adds an enhanced hinge system that makes the doors easier to remove.
The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, strong inventory, and the latest 2025 updates, this is the year to target. If you are shopping strictly on price, the 2025 is the better starting point than the 2024, while the 2026 makes sense if easier door removal matters more than buying at the current market level.
