Used 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe for Sale nearGrand Rapids, MI

Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe a good car?

Generally — the 4/5 user rating and 6.3/10 expert rating point to a vehicle that delivers on its core mission, even if it asks you to accept some rough edges. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

The 2025 Wrangler 4xe stands out most clearly in Willys ’41 Special Edition form, with heritage-inspired styling, a plug-in hybrid powertrain, and easy-to-use technology. It’s a better fit for you if you want the Wrangler’s rugged personality and distinctive image than if you’re prioritizing comfort or refinement.

Trade-offs matter here: it can be noisy, and the interior materials feel cheap. It also leans into lifestyle appeal rather than convenient commuting.

The market looks healthy, with 44.1% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Wrangler 4xe’s plug-in hybrid setup is built around a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, and a battery pack that supports electric-only driving. In expert testing, it delivered strong power and useful efficiency when you recharge it regularly, and it can be recharged at home on a standard outlet or a Level 2 charger.

Jeep also says the battery can be recharged in 12 hours on a standard household outlet or in 2.5 hours with a Level 2 home charger. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the value proposition weakens if you don’t plug it in often and use it like a conventional hybrid.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a vehicle that’s been used off-road or frequently driven with the top off. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the equipment you want is actually present, since some desirable features are not standard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Willys ’41 Special Edition stands out with exclusive ’41 paint, steel-style 17-inch wheels, a tan soft-top roof, steel bumpers, 33-inch all-terrain tires, Heritage Tan cloth seats, and an Olive Drab cloth dashboard insert. The cabin is otherwise standard Wrangler, so base-level feel remains raw and unrefined.
• Powertrain: The plug-in hybrid setup uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a 17.3-kWh battery pack. It delivers an estimated 21 miles of electric-only driving range and 20 mpg in combined driving once the battery is depleted.
• Safety package: Forward-collision warning and adaptive cruise control are standard on all trim levels. The optional Active Safety Group adds automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, but it requires the Convenience Group as well.
• Infotainment: Every Wrangler 4xe comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen using Uconnect 5, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation is not offered on the Willys ’41, and a wireless charger is not available.
• Fuel efficiency: Jeep says the Wrangler 4xe returns 20 mpg in combined driving once the battery is depleted, and it can travel an estimated 21 miles on electricity alone. In testing, it averaged 20.1 mpg over a 72.1-mile loop with 18 miles covered on electricity.

Which 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is offered in 7 trim levels: Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Willys ’41, Rubicon, Backcountry, and Rubicon X.

Here's the short version:

• Sport S: This is the entry point if you want the Wrangler 4xe experience at the lowest rung of the lineup, but you should expect the same basic Wrangler character and a sparse safety setup unless you add packages.
• Willys: This is the trim to target if you want a more appealing balance of equipment and value, since it sits among the more affordable versions and keeps the Wrangler 4xe’s core plug-in hybrid appeal intact.
• Sahara: Choose this if you want a step up in the lineup without jumping all the way to the more expensive off-road-focused trims.
• Willys ’41: This is the standout style pick. It adds the heritage-themed appearance package and is the most distinctive choice if you care about the special-edition look.
• Rubicon: Pick this if you want a more expensive, capability-oriented version of the Wrangler 4xe.
• Backcountry: This is another higher-priced trim for buyers who want more equipment and a more premium-positioned Wrangler 4xe.
• Rubicon X: This is the top-end choice in the lineup if you want the most expensive version listed here.

The safety package is not standard, and the Active Safety Group requires the Convenience Group as well.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe?

The market leans in your favor right now, with a solid share of listings priced as good or great deals and a large pool of available vehicles.

• Deal availability: 44.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,341 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 92.4% of listings are accident-free.

Is the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe safe?

The 2025 Wrangler 4xe earns a mediocre three-star rating for rollover resistance from NHTSA, and the NHTSA says it provides no better than three-star protection in a frontal impact.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward-collision warning and adaptive cruise control are standard on all trim levels. If you want more, the optional Active Safety Group adds automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors, but Jeep requires the Convenience Group too.

Safety is a weak point here, and the Wrangler’s limited safety technology and occupant-protection performance are worth taking seriously if that matters to you.

Should I buy a 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 44.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The Willys ’41 Special Edition gives this year a distinctive heritage-inspired look and keeps the plug-in hybrid appeal front and center.

The bottom line: If you want the Wrangler 4xe’s plug-in hybrid setup and the Willys ’41’s distinctive styling, the 2025 is the clear path. If you’re more price-sensitive, focus on the trims and listings that give you the best equipment mix without paying extra for the special-edition appearance.
