How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 3.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,452 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating and 7.83/10 expert rating both point to a strong overall package. The 2025 Civic is positioned as a compact car that balances everyday usability with driver appeal, and the gas-only lineup gives you a straightforward choice if you want an affordable sedan or hatchback. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The trade-offs are clear: all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual transmission lacks some user-friendly features. Even so, the Civic Si is singled out as a particularly appealing option if you want a more engaging drive.

Good and great deals account for 32.5% of listings, which is a decent sign that you can still find value if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2025 Civic is described as a well-regarded compact car that gets subtle but meaningful updates, and Honda’s revised driver-assistance tuning and improved collision-mitigation system add to its everyday confidence.

The expert notes also point to a car that remains easy to live with, especially if you want a manual-transmission option or a straightforward affordable sedan or hatchback. The Civic Si’s light clutch and agreeable shifter action reinforce that sense of usability.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that some of the car’s convenience and driver-assist behavior may not feel as polished as you’d like over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for wear, repair quality, and any signs that the car has been driven hard. Focus especially on overall condition and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only lineup is split between LX, Sport, and Civic Si, and the base trims are more basic than the Si. The Si adds a sportier look, red interior accents, and a more distinctive cabin treatment, while the lower trims are more straightforward and less feature-rich.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, while the Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. The LX and Sport use a CVT, while the Si comes only with a six-speed manual.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard, and the updated system includes improved collision-mitigation braking that can better detect bicycles and motorcycles, smoother adaptive cruise control, and smoother lane-keeping assist. The lane-keeping system can still feel a bit aggressive.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is a 7-inch touchscreen, but the Civic Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The Civic LX is rated at 32 mpg city, 41 highway, and 36 combined, while the Civic Si is rated at 27 mpg city, 37 highway, and 31 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest starting price and the best fuel economy in the gas-only lineup. It gives you the essentials and makes the most sense if affordability matters more than extra tech or performance.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a step up from the LX without jumping all the way to the Si. It keeps the Civic formula simple while adding a little more presence and equipment.
• Civic Si: This is the enthusiast pick and the best-value trim if you want the most rewarding driving experience. It adds the turbocharged engine, manual transmission, larger touchscreen, Google Built-In, Bose audio, wireless smartphone projection, and the digital instrument cluster.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,452 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,225, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $25,380 sits slightly below last year's $26,361.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and trim desirability than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples with the right equipment should hold up better than average, especially if they appeal to shoppers looking for a manual or a more engaging compact car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and 2025 Honda Civic Sedan earn Top Safety Pick+ awards from the IIHS and five-star overall ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard, and the 2025 update improves collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The system can better detect bicycles and motorcycles, and the updated cruise control is smoother over hills. The lane-keeping assist still feels a bit aggressive, though, so that remains a caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda’s 2025 update brings subtle but meaningful refreshes and improved driver-assistance tuning.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $25,092, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $25,380 average.
• It offers a proven, unchanged formula with lively performance and strong value.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It carries forward the Civic’s broader appeal with a more polished feel and unchanged lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this generation with strong safety credentials and a healthy used-car market, the 2025 is the primary pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want to compare broader Civic availability and don’t mind shopping a newer model year.
