How much does the 2024 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices are up 4.05% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 9,756 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, spacious interior, and advanced tech, including the large touchscreen. The review summary also points to its reliability and practical everyday usefulness, which lines up with the model’s reputation for being dependable and easy to live with. On the downside, some owners mention cheap-feeling leather seats and seat-height concerns.

The expert take is similar: it’s dependable, roomy, and practical, but also noisy and dull to drive. For you, that means the RAV4 makes the most sense if you value utility, comfort, and ownership ease over driving excitement.

The market shows 36.0% good or great deals, so there are still some attractive listings to find.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, comfort, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers also calling out the RAV4’s practical, long-term appeal. The expert evaluation reinforces that with language pointing to bulletproof dependability and a reputation for lasting a long time.

Toyota also includes free scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which helps lower early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is age-related wear as this generation nears the end of its run.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota RAV4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or one with off-road use. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the vehicle’s features and trim level match the listing description. If you’re shopping a used RAV4, the details matter because the lineup spans from basic to more upscale and rugged versions.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LE is missing blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, while higher trims add a more upscale cabin feel and more equipment. If you want a nicer interior, look for the XLE Premium or Limited.
• Powertrain: The gas model uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic. It’s tuned for everyday usefulness rather than quick acceleration, and the AWD system is available if you want extra traction.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. The base LE does not get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The Toyota Audio Multimedia system includes an 8-inch touchscreen, with an available 10.5-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD Off-Road is rated at 28 mpg in combined driving, and the hybrid alternative is rated at 37 mpg.

Which 2024 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE Premium, Limited, TRD Off-Road.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, but it leaves out blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live with a more basic setup.
• XLE Premium: This is the best-value choice if you want a more upscale cabin without jumping to the top of the range. The content points to a nicer interior and contrast-color trim choices here.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most upscale feel in the gas lineup. It’s the trim to target if comfort and cabin presentation matter most.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the rugged-themed version with AWD, off-road suspension tuning, all-terrain tires, an underbody skid plate, and Multi-Terrain Select. It’s the right pick if you want the most capability-focused gas RAV4, though the content says it still isn’t a true off-road specialist.

The base LE trim does not include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,756 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.05% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 90.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,580, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $30,743 sits slightly above last year's $29,546.

That upward move suggests the RAV4 continues to hold buyer interest well in the used market. For a future seller, that’s a positive sign because steady demand can help support pricing when it’s time to trade in or list the vehicle privately. The year-round range also shows that well-priced examples can move quickly, especially when they’re clean and well equipped.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2024 RAV4 does not qualify for an IIHS Top Safety Pick award, and it earns a Marginal rating in the latest small overlap frontal-impact crash test and an Acceptable rating in the latest side-impact test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. The system works best on straighter highways, and the base LE trim does not include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

The main caveat is that the RAV4’s crash-test results have slipped enough to keep it from earning top honors, which is worth weighing if safety is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.05% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers dependable, roomy, and practical transportation with a broad trim range.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $29,830, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,743 average.
• It updated the infotainment system and kept the formula broadly intact.

The bottom line: If you want the current-year market with strong inventory and proven owner satisfaction, the 2024 is the safer default. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2023 is the better value play, especially if you find one in good condition with the features you want.
