A softer market today can mean less upside at resale, but it can also create a better entry point if you buy at the right price. If the model continues to hold strong buyer interest, that can help support future demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Prius Prime or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better choice if you want a strong satisfaction signal, decent deal availability, and a market that has softened enough to reward careful shopping. If your priority is the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 gives you a balanced mix of value and inventory quality.
