How much does the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 5.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 937 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns an 8.33/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It is positioned as a refined midsize luxury sedan that blends understated styling, a premium cabin, and a technology-rich interior. The test-drive verdict also says it remains at the top of its class when equipped with all the extras, which fits the car’s upscale mission.

The main trade-offs are its high price and poor fuel economy, along with minor driving-assistance irritations. If you want a luxury sedan that emphasizes comfort, sophistication, and advanced tech over bargain pricing or sporty driving, this one lines up well.

Good and great deals: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is presented as a refined, well-engineered luxury sedan with standard mild-hybrid drivetrains and a strong emphasis on comfort and technology. Its powertrain is described as smooth and capable, and the ride quality is a major strength, which usually matters a lot in long-term ownership.

The performance notes also point to a car that feels composed and calm in daily driving, especially with the available adaptive suspension setup. That said, the same technology-rich character that makes the E-Class appealing can also add complexity over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s advanced systems and premium hardware may be expensive to maintain if something goes wrong.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with lots of optional equipment. Focus on whether the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and suspension-related options are working as intended, since this model leans heavily on technology and comfort hardware.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The E-Class comes in E 350 4Matic and E 450 4Matic models in sedan form. The test car also showed how much the option packages can change the experience, with the Multicontour Seating Package adding massaging front seats, an Air Balance air purification and fragrance system, and Energizing Comfort Plus programs.
• Powertrain: The E 350 4Matic uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the E 450 4Matic uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with 375 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both use a nine-speed automatic, standard 4Matic all-wheel drive, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package adds 15 technologies, including upgraded Pre-Safe pre-collision features, Active Emergency Stop Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, lane-centering, lane-change systems, Automatic Lane Change, Active Speed Limit Assist, and Route-based Speed Adaptation. Some of these systems can be turned off if you find them intrusive.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation display and a 14.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with a navigation system with augmented video technology, Wi-Fi hotspot access, and support for driver profiles and routines.
• Fuel efficiency: The E 350 is rated at 27 mpg in combined driving, though the test vehicle returned 23.8 mpg.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is offered in 2 trim levels: E 350 4Matic and E 450 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

• E 350 4Matic: This is the better-value choice if you want the core E-Class experience with standard all-wheel drive, mild-hybrid tech, and plenty of power for most buyers. It delivers the luxury, ride quality, and technology that define the car without pushing you into the pricier engine.
• E 450 4Matic: Choose this if you want more performance and a stronger straight-line feel. Its inline-six engine brings a meaningful power bump and quicker acceleration, making it the better pick if you want the most effortless version of the sedan.

The Driver Assistance Package is the key safety add-on to consider if you want the fullest set of driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 937 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,651, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $54,651 sits slightly below last year's $58,024.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means the car may face some depreciation pressure if prices continue to normalize from last year’s higher level.

Because the current average is still near the low end of the year-round range, a well-priced, well-equipped example should hold buyer interest better than an overpriced one. If you plan to resell later, condition, mileage, and option content will matter a lot.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 E-Class includes numerous safety features, but the full set of advanced driver-assistance systems requires the Driver Assistance Package. That package adds 15 technologies, including upgraded Pre-Safe pre-collision features, Active Emergency Stop Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, lane-centering, lane-change systems, Automatic Lane Change, Active Speed Limit Assist, and Route-based Speed Adaptation.

The system works well overall, but some features can feel intrusive or overly cautious in real-world traffic. The lane-centering assist can allow a wider line than you may want, and the speed-assist functions can react to posted limits in ways that may annoy drivers behind you.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.81% compared with last year.
• The redesign brings a more technology-rich cabin and a refined, upscale driving experience that the experts rate highly.

The bottom line: If you want the newest E-Class feel, the 2024 is the right target because it combines a redesign, strong expert scores, and a market that has softened enough to create some buying opportunity. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby years to see whether a lower entry price outweighs the newer model’s upgraded tech and freshened design.
