How much does the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 8.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,430 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

The redesign gives you a bold, blocky look, a longer wheelbase, standard third-row seating, and a more premium-feeling cabin than before. It is also positioned as a practical family SUV with added substance, not just styling flair.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, performance is pedestrian, and top trims can get expensive.

The market shows 38.0% of listings as good or great deals, which is a solid sign that you can still shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Santa Fe’s redesign pairs a substantial new body with a broad set of standard features, and the expert evaluation describes the overall package as successful. Its powertrain lineup is also broad, with a turbocharged gas engine and a hybrid option later in the model year.

The performance notes point to smooth, mostly stable driving behavior with few misses in acceleration, throttle response, or shifting. The cost-effectiveness notes also highlight Hyundai’s strong value proposition in the middle of the trim range.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-trim complexity and premium features can raise repair and replacement costs if something goes wrong.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-trim example with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, electronics, and any signs that the vehicle has seen heavy family use, since this model’s appeal centers on its tech and interior space.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE starts with a long list of standard safety features, while the SEL adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the curved panoramic display, and a wireless smartphone charger. The XRT adds dark chrome and black exterior trim, plus a more rugged look, while Limited and Calligraphy versions bring larger wheels and more premium presentation.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, rated at 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is optional, and the XRT gets all-wheel drive standard. A hybrid powertrain is also offered later in the model year.
• Safety package: The base SE includes a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system. The XRT adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system, while Limited and Calligraphy trims add more advanced camera and parking tech.
• Infotainment: Higher trims get a curved panoramic display, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose stereo, dynamic voice recognition, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The SE and SEL use a simpler 12.3-inch touchscreen, and the SEL and above add more convenience features.
• Fuel efficiency: The gas model is rated at 20 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined with front-wheel drive, 20/28/23 with all-wheel drive, and 19/26/22 in XRT form. The hybrid is rated at 36/35/36 with front-wheel drive and 35/34/34 with all-wheel drive.

Which 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gives you a strong safety suite plus the core Santa Fe redesign. If you want the lowest entry price and can live without the richer cabin upgrades, this is the trim to start with.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. For a relatively modest step up, you get synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the curved panoramic display, a wireless smartphone charger, and an upgraded rear occupant alert system.
• XRT: Choose this if you want the more rugged look and standard all-wheel drive. It also adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system and off-road-oriented settings, making it the pick for buyers who want a more adventurous personality.
• Limited: This trim is the step up for shoppers who want more convenience and parking tech, including a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, rain-sensing windshield wipers, parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, remote automatic parking, and a sanitizing compartment in the glovebox.
• Calligraphy: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems. It is the most premium Santa Fe, but it is also the easiest trim to push into expensive territory.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but the XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy trims add the most notable extra features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,430 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,012, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $31,012 sits slightly below last year's $33,986.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, trim desirability, and equipment level than on broad market momentum.

Well-equipped trims and clean history should be easier to move later, especially if the vehicle remains in strong cosmetic and mechanical shape.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has not yet been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The base SE trim includes a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system. The SEL adds an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, and side-view mirrors with turn signals.

The XRT adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system. Limited trims add a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, rain-sensing windshield wipers, front, rear, and side parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, remote automatic parking, and a sanitizing compartment in the glovebox. Calligraphy adds a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems.

The first Hyundai vehicle with driver monitoring, it uses an infrared camera and steering-wheel sensors to track alertness and hand placement, then escalates warnings before bringing the vehicle to a stop if needed.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a bold new look, standard third-row seating, and a more premium-feeling cabin.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,523, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $31,012 average.
• It delivers class-leading value with standard safety features and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $32,600, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $31,012 average.
• It adds more interior space and a bolder family-focused design.

The bottom line: If you want the newest design, standard third-row seating, and strong tech, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the latest styling and can stretch your budget.
