What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and confirm the car’s accident and title status before you commit. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery-related systems, charging equipment, tires, and suspension feel, since those are the areas most likely to affect your ownership experience. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and trim-specific features so you know whether the car matches the price you’re paying.

The current average of $27,381 sits slightly below last year's $31,736.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper future resale gains if you sell soon. For a future seller, the good news is that the model still has broad appeal thanks to its practicality and strong owner satisfaction. If demand stays healthy, that should help support used values better than a less-liked EV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.72% compared with last year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• Minor updates and a new adventure-ready trim broaden its appeal.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2024 if you want the stronger value story and a wide pool of listings to compare. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2024 is the better hunting ground; if you want the latest small updates and trim choices, the 2025 is worth a look.
