Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning stands out because it brings full-size electric-truck capability to a familiar pickup shape, which makes it appealing if you want an EV that still feels like a traditional F-Series truck. It also adds useful electric-only advantages such as a front trunk, bi-directional charging, and Pro Power Onboard, while remaining especially well suited to tailgating, camping, or using power tools away from an outlet. The market also shows 29.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning is presented as a truck with broad standard safety equipment and a heat pump added for better cold-weather range stability, both of which support everyday usability. Its electric setup also brings practical advantages like a modified structure for the battery pack and dual motors, which are central to how the truck is engineered. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the battery, charging hardware, and power-export features have been well cared for and remain fully functional.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report so you can confirm the truck’s background and verify that it has not had hidden damage or repeated repairs. Put inspection priority on the battery, charging system, and any features tied to the truck’s electric utility, since those are central to ownership. You should also focus on overall condition and how the truck was used, especially if you plan to rely on it for work, travel, or power-export duties.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 547 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,242, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning's resale value?

The current average of $49,251 sits slightly below last year's $50,711.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the broader trend continues. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s appeal will depend heavily on how well it holds up in condition, mileage, and feature functionality. Strong demand for a familiar full-size electric truck can still support resale, especially if the truck remains clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of familiar truck feel, electric utility, and current-market value, the 2024 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2024’s broader feature set and market position.
