Used 2024 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 15.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,891 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Traverse’s appeal is tied to its larger, bolder three-row layout, added passenger space, and much larger infotainment touchscreen. It also brings more standard driver aids, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which makes it feel more up to date as a family hauler.

The trade-offs are that its size is hard to ignore, the base LS trim is described as a little too basic, and the range-topping RS trim is pricey.

35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Traverse is presented as a more modern and better-equipped version of the model, with more space, more standard driver aids, and a fully updated cabin. Its powertrain is described as delivering more power and torque than before, and the ride is praised as exemplary.

The stop-and-start system is described as seamless in operation, which is a small but useful sign of everyday refinement. If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is that its larger size and more complex feature set make condition and maintenance history especially important to verify.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Traverse?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the larger body, the electronics, and the condition of the cabin and driver-assistance features. Since the Traverse is a family-focused three-row SUV, make sure the seating, cargo area, and infotainment system all work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LS is described as a little too basic, while the RS is the pricey top-end choice; the Z71 adds a more rugged look and moderate off-road intent.
• Powertrain: The Traverse uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, replacing the previous V6 and adding more power and torque.
• Safety package: Every model gets automatic emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, side-exit assist, rear pedestrian alert, and a surround-view parking camera.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 17.7-inch touchscreen, an 11-inch digital instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google-based software.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA estimates range from 18 mpg city, 26 highway, 21 combined for the Limited with FWD down to 17/25/20 for the Limited with AWD.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, Z71, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, but the content makes clear that it is a little too basic, so you should only choose it if price matters most and you’re comfortable with a simpler setup.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it is expected to be the most popular model and adds the flexibility of a second-row bench or dual captain’s chairs.
• Z71: This is the right pick if you want the more rugged look and the moderate off-road capability described in the test-drive notes.
• RS: This is the top-end choice, and it comes loaded with nearly every available feature, but it is also the priciest trim.

All models get the same broad safety package, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver aids.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,891 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,822, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $37,822 sits slightly below last year's $44,970.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped.

Because the Traverse is a family-oriented three-row SUV with strong utility, well-kept examples should still draw interest from used buyers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2024 Traverse had not undergone crash tests from NHTSA or IIHS at the time of the test drive.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every model gets automatic emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, side-exit assist, rear pedestrian alert, and a surround-view parking camera. Super Cruise is also offered, adding hands-free driving capability on mapped roads.

A key caveat is that official crash-test results were not yet available in the source material, so you should lean more heavily on the vehicle history report and a thorough inspection when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 brings a much larger touchscreen and more standard driver aids.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $39,857, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,822 average.
• The base LS trim disappears, and the lineup adds a new upscale High Country trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong inventory and a major redesign. If you’re willing to pay more for the updated 2025 lineup changes, the newer model may be worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2024.
