Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the overview makes clear that this truck is built for serious towing and payload work rather than everyday polish. You get a wide range of cab and rear-wheel configurations, a functional cabin, and a strong mix of trailering tech and convenience features, so it fits best if you need maximum capability in a civilian pickup. The market also shows 32.5% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes a truck that is purpose-built for heavy-duty work, with a spacious and functional cabin and towing-focused hardware that should suit demanding use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about everyday commuting and more about how hard the truck was worked, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the truck’s towing and hauling use matches the seller’s description. Put inspection priority on the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, tires, and any trailering-related equipment, since those systems are most likely to show wear on a heavy-duty truck. Focus especially on overall condition and signs of hard use, because this model is designed for serious work.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $59,068, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $59,068 sits slightly below last year's $63,533.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make resale a little less favorable in the short term if you buy at the wrong price. On the other hand, heavy-duty trucks with strong capability and broad appeal can still hold buyer interest when they’re well maintained and configured well. If you keep mileage, condition, and service records in good shape, you give yourself a better shot at a stronger future sale.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability, broad configuration choices, and a market that currently offers some pricing softness, the 2024 is the primary year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2024’s combination of inventory quality and owner satisfaction.
