Is the 2023 Volvo S60 a good car?

The 2023 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into Volvo’s strengths: safety, comfort, and Scandinavian design. It rides on the brand’s SPA platform and carries over the refined design language and advanced safety systems associated with Volvo’s larger flagship sedan, but in a smaller, sleeker package.

For you, that means a sedan that prioritizes a calm cabin, high-quality materials, and a premium feel over outright sportiness. It also brings a streamlined lineup, updated infotainment, and a strong safety story, which makes it especially appealing if you want a distinctive luxury car that feels thoughtfully engineered for everyday use.

35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Volvo S60 reliable?

The 2023 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into Volvo’s strengths: safety, comfort, and Scandinavian design. It also benefits from being the first Volvo model assembled in North America, which adds another layer of distinction to the car’s story.

For used buyers, that points to a car whose appeal is rooted in design, comfort, and safety rather than complexity for its own sake. Long-term ownership risk is still worth watching closely on any premium sedan, so you should focus on maintenance history and overall condition before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and confirm that the car’s maintenance records line up with its mileage and age. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and any driver-assistance features, since those are the kinds of systems you’ll want working properly in a premium sedan. Pay close attention to overall condition, because a well-kept example is more likely to deliver the refined ownership experience you’re shopping for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volvo S60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 661 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,483, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $27,483 sits slightly below last year's $32,097.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can work in your favor if you’re buying now but may pressure future resale returns if you plan to sell soon. If you keep the car in excellent condition and stay on top of maintenance, you’ll be better positioned to protect value. Still, the recent decline means you should think of this as a car to buy for the right fit, not just for short-term appreciation.

Should I buy a 2023 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.37% compared with last year.

The 2023 is a strong choice if you want the updated lineup, the latest infotainment setup, and a premium sedan that leans into safety and comfort. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 gives you a compelling balance of features, condition, and market value.
