Is the 2023 Volvo S60 reliable?

The 2023 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into Volvo’s strengths: safety, comfort, and Scandinavian design. Every S60 came with Volvo’s City Safety collision avoidance system, and the model earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition in both 2021 and 2022.

That safety-first setup is a strong sign for long-term ownership confidence if you want a used luxury sedan with a well-established protection story. For used buyers, the main risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained properly and checked carefully before you commit.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 699 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.34% compared with last year.

What is the 2023 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $27,387 sits slightly below last year's $31,971.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is documented. A clean history and strong maintenance records should matter more if you want to protect value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.34% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2023 is a strong choice if you want the updated S60 formula with a lower used price than last year and a healthy pool of listings to compare. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a lower-mileage or better-equipped example gives you more value for the money.
