Used 2023 Toyota Crown for Sale nearBirmingham, AL

How much does the 2023 Toyota Crown cost?

Prices have softened 2.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 390 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Toyota Crown a good car?

The 2023 Toyota Crown is a well-rounded choice if you want a distinctive sedan with a comfort-first personality and strong efficiency, though it is not the best pick if you care most about performance or upscale cabin materials. It earns a 3.5/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

The Crown’s appeal comes from its elevated ride height, striking design, and broad everyday usability. It is described as comfortable and fuel-efficient, and the overall package is aimed at buyers who want something distinctive without giving up practicality.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, cargo space is limited, and the interior materials feel cheap. If you value efficiency, comfort, and styling more than speed or luxury-grade finishes, those compromises may be acceptable.

32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Toyota Crown reliable?

The 2023 Toyota Crown is built around a hybrid setup that emphasizes efficiency and smooth everyday driving, and the expert review describes the ride as comfort-tuned and the cabin as pleasantly quiet. The base hybrid’s fuel-saving focus and standard all-wheel drive support the sense that this is a low-stress daily driver rather than a high-strung performance car.

The expert review also notes that the adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist are well tuned for smooth driving and reduce driver effort. It adds that some electronic driver aids can be annoying, including Curve Speed Reduction and driver-attention false alarms, though many of those features can be disabled.

If you are buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Crown’s more intrusive driver-assistance behavior and its complex hybrid hardware may matter more as mileage builds, so a careful test drive and service-history review are especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Crown?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the hybrid system, driver-assistance behavior, and cabin condition. Since the Crown’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and efficiency, pay close attention to how smoothly it drives and whether the interior shows wear that undercuts its premium feel.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Crown is a full-size sedan with seating for five, and the top Platinum trim adds a two-tone color option, a more distinctive appearance, and a digital key feature. The cabin uses a mix of hard but sturdy plastics with cushioned touch points, so base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to whether the interior feel matches their expectations.
• Powertrain: The Crown is offered with two hybrid powertrains. The standard setup uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with a hybrid electric motor/generator and on-demand all-wheel drive for 236 horsepower, while the Platinum can add the Hybrid Max powertrain with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder and 340 horsepower. The base hybrid is tuned for efficiency and comfort, while the Hybrid Max is quicker but still not especially sporty.
• Safety package: Standard safety features include frontal and cross-traffic collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and a rear-seat-passenger reminder. The Platinum trim adds a semi-automated parallel parking system.
• Infotainment: Every trim comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air software updates, and a wireless charging pad. Higher trims can add an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system, and the Platinum includes a digital key feature as standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The base hybrid is estimated at 42 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 41 mpg combined. The more powerful Hybrid Max is rated at 29 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Toyota Crown trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Crown is offered in 3 trim levels: XLE, Limited, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the value play if you want the Crown’s core strengths without paying for extras. You still get the standard hybrid powertrain, standard all-wheel drive, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the full safety suite, so it covers the essentials well.
• Limited: This trim is the best-value choice if you want a more upscale feel without jumping to the top model. It builds on the XLE with more available comfort and convenience equipment, and it is the trim to consider if you want a better-equipped Crown without chasing the highest price.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most powerful version and the most features. It adds the Hybrid Max powertrain, adaptive suspension, a semi-automated parallel parking system, standard digital key, and the option for the more dramatic two-tone look.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while the Platinum adds the semi-automated parallel parking system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Crown?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 390 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,928, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Crown's resale value?

The current average of $33,422 sits slightly below last year's $34,136.

That tells you the Crown has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it suggests you should expect some depreciation pressure rather than a strong value-retention story.

Because the current price is below last year’s average, resale upside looks limited unless you buy well and keep the car in excellent condition. If you plan to sell later, a clean history and strong maintenance records should matter more than usual.

Is the 2023 Toyota Crown safe?

The 2023 Toyota Crown’s safety score from our experts is 6/10.

Standard safety features include frontal and cross-traffic collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and a rear-seat-passenger reminder. The Platinum trim adds a semi-automated parallel parking system.

The expert review also notes that the adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist are well tuned for smooth driving, but some of the newer driver-assistance features can be intrusive. In particular, Curve Speed Reduction and driver-attention false alarms were called out as annoyances, though many of those features can be disabled.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Crown or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.09% compared with last year.
• The all-new 2023 Toyota Crown finds a unique middle ground between large sedans and SUVs with its elevated ride, striking design, and broad appeal, so long as you do not expect impressive performance or decadent luxury.

The bottom line: The 2023 makes sense if you want the Crown’s distinctive styling, strong efficiency, and comfort-first character at a used price that has already softened. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can shop carefully and target the lower end of the range, but the 2023 is still the right pick when you want the original formula and its broad everyday appeal.
