Is the 2023 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Subaru Impreza is presented as a practical all-weather compact car with standard all-wheel drive, which supports its appeal for everyday use in changing conditions. Its straightforward, function-first character also suggests it is built to serve buyers who value consistency and traction over flash. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding an example that has been heavily used, abused, or modified.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Subaru Impreza?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of hard use or modification. Pay close attention to the ride quality, cabin condition, and overall wear, since the model is described as having a rough daily ride and cheap interior materials. A careful condition check matters especially because many examples have been heavily used, abused, or modified.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,416 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.66% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,596, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $19,596 sits slightly below last year's $21,221.

That price decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Because the model is practical and all-wheel drive is a strong selling point, clean examples should still attract interest from shoppers who value year-round confidence.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $22,843, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $19,596 average.
• It adds a revived RS trim for more driver excitement.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2023 is the stronger buy because it combines lower pricing with solid deal availability and a strong satisfaction signal. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model with a more exciting trim, the 2024 is the better secondary path.
