Owners repeatedly praise its sporty feel, standard all-wheel drive, and confidence in varied weather, while also noting that it feels spacious and comfortable for daily use and family needs. Is the 2018 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes dependable all-wheel-drive performance, confidence in varied weather, and a trouble-free feel for everyday use. That kind of response suggests the car is built to be something you can count on over time, especially if you value steady all-weather usability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one that has been well cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru Impreza?

At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and repeated damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, alignment, tires, and any signs of uneven wear that could point to past repairs. Because this model is often chosen for everyday practicality, focus on overall condition and maintenance consistency rather than just mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,015 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,269, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $13,528 sits slightly below last year's $13,646.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which can help future sellers because it points to predictable pricing rather than sharp swings. If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, you should have a reasonable path to resale without facing a steep value drop. The model’s steady demand also helps support pricing when you eventually list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $12,761, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $13,528 average.
• It offers standard all-wheel drive in a practical sedan-or-hatchback package.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the better pick if you want the stronger current-market balance of satisfaction, pricing stability, and broad availability. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the more budget-friendly alternative and still delivers the core Impreza formula.
