The 2023 Subaru Impreza is presented as a practical all-weather compact car with standard all-wheel drive, which supports its reputation for dependable everyday usefulness. Its appeal is rooted in traction and practicality rather than flash, so it fits buyers who want a straightforward car that can handle commuting, errands, and rough weather. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding an example that has been heavily used, abused, or modified.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Subaru Impreza?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a careful inspection of the car’s condition and maintenance clues. Because many examples have been heavily used, abused, or modified, pay close attention to signs of rough treatment, uneven wear, and any evidence of aftermarket changes. The rough daily ride and cheap interior materials also make it worth checking for wear inside the cabin and on suspension-related components.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,418 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,429, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $19,429 sits slightly below last year's $21,137.

That price decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it can also mean future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at or near the current average, you may have less room for appreciation than in a stronger market. Still, the Impreza’s practical all-weather appeal can help support demand when you eventually resell it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $22,834, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $19,429 average.
• It adds a revived RS trim for more driver excitement.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2023 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability and strong owner satisfaction. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model with a more exciting trim lineup, the 2024 is the better secondary path.
