How much does the 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid cost?

Prices have softened 4.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 622 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The 2023 RX Hybrid is a redesigned luxury SUV with three hybrid choices, so you can shop for the version that best fits your priorities. The overview points to upscale feel and hybrid efficiency as core strengths, while the expert review highlights impressive technology and a lineup that can appeal to buyers who want a premium SUV with a hybrid powertrain.

The trade-offs are real: the RX 500h delivers poor fuel economy, cargo space is limited, and head-up display integration is not especially good. If you want a luxury hybrid SUV that leans more toward comfort, efficiency, and tech than maximum utility, this one fits that use case well.

33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The RX Hybrid’s overview emphasizes a premium, efficiency-focused formula, and the expert review reinforces that with a hybrid lineup designed to broaden the model’s appeal. In performance terms, the RX 350h is described as efficient and quiet in everyday driving, while the RX 500h adds more excitement without losing the SUV’s upscale character.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to the RX 350h as the best deal in the lineup, especially if you value efficiency without giving up the luxury-SUV experience. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a version whose fuel economy, tech complexity, or packaging doesn’t match your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury hybrid with advanced driver-assistance and infotainment systems. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and whether the specific trim’s equipment matches what you expect from the listing photos and description.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RX 350h looks nearly identical to the standard RX 350, while the RX 500h F Sport Performance has a more aggressive appearance with blacked-out exterior details, matte-black 21-inch wheels, and specific interior trimmings. The base hybrid setup is the better value if you want efficiency and a quieter, more understated look.
• Powertrain: The RX 350h uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid setup with 246 hp and is the efficiency-focused choice, while the RX 500h uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid system with 366 hp and a six-speed automatic for stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Every 2023 RX comes with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, including motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, curve-speed reduction for adaptive cruise control, and Proactive Driving Assist. Some features can be distracting in use, especially the HUD-related alerts and driver-monitoring warnings.
• Infotainment: The new Lexus Interface brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus connected services and cloud-based navigation. The touchscreen is large, but you can view only one screen menu at a time, and the system can be frustrating to navigate while driving.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350h is expected to average 36 mpg in combined driving, and the RX 500h is expected to get no better than 27 mpg in combined driving. In testing, the RX 350h averaged 32 mpg, while the RX 500h averaged 20.9 mpg.

Which 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid is offered in 3 trim levels: RX 350h, RX 450h+, RX 500h F Sport Performance.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350h: This is the best-value choice if you want the strongest blend of efficiency and everyday usability. It’s the trim the review points to as the most sensible pick for most people, and it delivers the lineup’s best fuel economy.
• RX 450h+: This plug-in hybrid is part of the lineup, but the provided review data doesn’t give enough detail to make it the clear recommendation here.
• RX 500h F Sport Performance: Choose this if you want the most engaging driving experience and can live with weaker fuel economy. It adds the performance-oriented character, stronger output, and more athletic hardware, but it’s not the efficiency play.

Every 2023 RX comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 622 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $50,608, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $50,818 sits slightly below last year's $53,001.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, trim choice, and how well the vehicle is equipped than on broad market momentum alone.

Because the year-round range runs from $50,608 to $53,080, a well-kept example priced near the top of that band should still have room to hold value if demand stays steady. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid safe?

The 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2023 RX comes with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, curve-speed reduction for adaptive cruise control, and Proactive Driving Assist. Lexus also offers Traffic Jam Assist and available Advanced Park, though those are not standard on every vehicle.

There are a few caveats to keep in mind. The front cross-traffic alert can be awkward if you wear polarized sunglasses, the curve-speed reduction feature can feel reactive, and the driver monitoring system can generate warnings if you drive one-handed. Those issues don’t erase the overall safety strength, but they are worth checking during a test drive.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus RX Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned lineup brings three hybrid choices, including the efficiency-focused RX 350h and the performance-oriented RX 500h.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned RX Hybrid with modern tech, strong efficiency in the RX 350h, and a market that’s offering some negotiating room, the 2023 is the right place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it against older RX Hybrid years, but the 2023 gives you the newest hybrid lineup and the broadest range of choices.
