Used 2023 Kia Soul for Sale nearSaint Paul, MN

How much does the 2023 Kia Soul cost?

Prices have softened 3.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,936 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Soul a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Soul earns a 4.62/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its value, spacious interior, and comfortable ride, and they also respond well to its safety features and everyday practicality. The Soul’s upright packaging and distinctive styling make it feel more versatile than many small cars, which fits buyers who want something affordable but not generic.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the base model leaves out some desirable features. That makes the Soul a better fit if you care more about space, value, and personality than quick acceleration.

With 33.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Kia Soul reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to live with over time, especially if you value a roomy cabin and a car that does its job without drama. The expert review also describes the Soul’s basic package as solid and notes that the transmission avoids many of the usual CVT complaints, which supports the idea that the car should be straightforward to own.

Kia’s warranty coverage also helps reduce long-term ownership risk for used buyers, especially if you’re shopping a lower-mileage example or one that still has coverage remaining.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Soul?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, then prioritize a close inspection of the interior, electronics, and driver-assist equipment. Because the base trim leaves out some convenience and safety content, it’s worth checking whether the features you want are actually present on the specific car you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX gets the 8-inch touchscreen and digital instrument cluster, while higher trims add a 10.25-inch screen, navigation, wireless charging, and additional USB ports. The base trim also misses dual-zone automatic climate control, which is standard on the higher trims.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. The discontinued turbo engine and EV version are not part of this model year.
• Safety package: Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and a driver attention monitor are standard. The Soul S adds lane change assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and automatic high beams.
• Infotainment: The base LX uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims get a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, while voice recognition is included on Soul S and higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Most models are rated at 30 mpg combined, while the EX is rated at 31 mpg combined. The GT-Line test car returned 29.1 mpg in observed driving.

Which 2023 Kia Soul trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Soul is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, S, EX, and GT-Line.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the Soul’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. You still get the distinctive design, the 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the standard driver-assist basics, but you give up several comfort and convenience upgrades found higher up the range.
• S: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a meaningful safety upgrade set, including blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, along with lane departure warning and automatic high beams. If you want the best balance of price and equipment, this is the trim to focus on.
• EX: Choose this if you want the more upscale everyday experience, including the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, navigation, wireless charging, and the slightly better fuel economy rating. It suits you if tech and convenience matter more than keeping the price as low as possible.
• GT-Line: This is the style-forward choice, with the sportiest appearance and available upgrades like the GT-Line Technology Package. It makes sense if you want the most distinctive look and are willing to pay extra for the added equipment.

The safety-package step-up from LX to S is especially important, since the base trim leaves out several useful driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Soul?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,936 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,723, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Soul's resale value?

The current average of $17,180 sits slightly below last year's $17,863.

That softer pricing suggests the Soul is in a buyer-friendly phase right now, which can help you if you’re shopping used but may temper what you can expect on a future trade-in. If prices stay near this level, sellers may need to lean more on condition, mileage, and equipment to stand out.

The Soul’s strong value reputation and broad appeal should still help it attract shoppers later, especially if you keep it clean and well maintained. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Soul safe?

The 2023 Kia Soul earns top “Good” ratings from IIHS in all crash-test categories, along with an “Acceptable” rating for child-seat anchor ease of use. It earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in side-impact protection.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia made several driver-assistance features standard for 2023, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and a driver attention monitor. The Soul S adds lane change assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and automatic high beams.

One important caveat is that adaptive cruise control and Highway Drive Assist are tied to the GT-Line Technology Package, so you have to move up the trim ladder and add an option package to get the full suite.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Soul or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model adds more standard driver-assist features and a revised trim lineup, while dropping the X-Line and Turbo variants.

The bottom line: If you want the newest nearby Soul with more standard safety content and a broad used-car inventory, the 2023 is the cleanest choice. If your priority is simply paying less, a nearby older model may be worth a look, but you’ll want to compare equipment carefully because the 2023’s updates improve the value equation.
