Used 2023 Mazda CX-30 for Sale nearSaint Paul, MN

How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 3,693 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated model with an expert rating of 6.83/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The 2023 CX-30 leans into a compact footprint, which helps it feel carlike and easy to place on the road. That same size tradeoff leaves you with a cramped rear seat and tight cargo space, but you also get a classy, high-quality interior and enjoyable driving dynamics that make it feel more upscale than many small crossovers.

The main compromises are the limited rear-seat room and the flawed infotainment system. If you want a small crossover that prioritizes style, refinement, and driving enjoyment over maximum space, this one fits that brief well.

38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 CX-30’s reliability case is helped by Mazda’s emphasis on a refined, premium-feeling cabin and a well-sorted driving experience. The year also brings a more powerful base engine and improved side-impact collision protection, which adds confidence to the ownership picture.

Its powertrains are described as robust, and the available turbocharged engine delivers strong acceleration. The standard all-wheel-drive setup and the model’s overall safety focus also support the sense that Mazda engineered this SUV to be a durable daily driver.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term risk is living with the CX-30’s tight cabin and infotainment frustrations if those issues matter to your routine.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a turbo model. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment usability, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches the trim you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.5 S has cloth seats at the base level, while higher trims move to artificial or genuine leather upholstery. The 2.5 Turbo line adds more power, and the Premium and Premium Plus versions bring more upscale equipment.
• Powertrain: The 2.5 S uses a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder, while the turbocharged version can make up to 250 horsepower on premium fuel. Both engines use a six-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Every CX-30 includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a driver monitoring system, automatic high-beam headlights, and E911 emergency notification. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, and the 2.5 S Premium and Turbo Premium add an adaptive front lighting system, traffic sign recognition, and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: The CX-30 uses an 8.8-inch display, and all models include Bluetooth, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and connected services with Wi-Fi hotspot access. The system does not use a touchscreen, and the turbo trims add SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, and a 14-speaker Bose sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5 S improves to 29 mpg in combined driving, while the turbocharged model averaged 23.6 mpg on the evaluation drive.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 7 trim levels: 2.5 S base, Select, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5 S base: This is the entry point, but it’s the one most likely to leave you wanting more because it starts with cloth seats and misses some of the nicer comfort and safety upgrades found higher up.
• Select: This is the first trim that starts to make the CX-30 feel more complete, and it’s a sensible step up if you want a better-balanced ownership experience without chasing luxury pricing.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful comfort and convenience without pushing you into the more expensive turbo models.
• Carbon Edition: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and a richer-feeling presentation while staying within the non-turbo lineup.
• Premium: This is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale cabin and the added safety and tech upgrades that make the CX-30 feel more premium.
• 2.5 Turbo Premium: This is the right pick if you want the stronger turbo engine and the extra equipment that comes with it, but you should expect to pay more.
• 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus: This is the top choice if you want the fullest feature set, including the most advanced driver aids and convenience gear.

All but the base trim include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, so that’s an important safety-package step up to keep in mind.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $23,434 sits slightly above last year's $23,206.

That small increase suggests the CX-30 has held its value fairly well in the near term. For you as a future seller, that kind of stability can help reduce the risk of a steep depreciation hit if you keep the vehicle in good condition.

The model’s premium-feeling interior, strong safety reputation, and appealing driving dynamics should continue to support buyer interest. The biggest resale drag is likely to be the same thing that affects day-to-day livability: limited rear-seat and cargo space.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The Mazda CX-30 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2023 CX-30 includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a driver monitoring system, automatic high-beam headlights, and E911 emergency notification. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, and higher trims add more advanced equipment such as an adaptive front lighting system, traffic sign recognition, and a head-up display.

Mazda also improved side-impact crash protection this year with standard rear side airbags and outboard rear seatbelt tensioners. That upgrade helps explain the strong safety result and makes the CX-30 a reassuring choice if safety is high on your list.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds a more powerful base engine and improved side-impact collision protection.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,126, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,434 average.
• It offers a more upscale cabin and refined ride with sporty handling.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $23,266, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $23,434 average.
• It adds new trims, USB-C ports, and a larger infotainment screen with wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want the updated base engine and stronger safety without moving up a model year. If you’re focused on saving money, the 2022 is the value play; if you want newer tech, the 2024 is the better path.
