Used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L cost?

Prices have softened 2.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,666 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L earns a 4.83/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, spaciousness, and comfortable features, and they also frequently mention strong engine performance and towing capability. In testing, it stands out for great handling, great ride quality, and premium interior materials, which helps explain why it can feel upscale in higher trims. The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the irritating transmission, so it makes the most sense if you want a family-friendly three-row SUV with a premium feel rather than a pure performance pick. Good and great deals account for 41.5% of listings, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, solid choice for families, with repeated praise for its comfortable features, spaciousness, and functional design. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that Jeep’s high resale value supports the ownership experience over time, and the model comes with two years of scheduled maintenance. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the drivetrain and transmission feel healthy, since the base powertrain is the weakest part of the package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, because build date matters here and the safety rating depends on when the vehicle was assembled. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, transmission behavior, and overall condition, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a lower-priced trim. Focus on whether the equipment level matches your needs, since the Grand Cherokee L’s appeal changes a lot as you move up the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Laredo and Altitude come with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument panel, while the Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve get a 10.1-inch touchscreen and full-screen maps on the instrument panel. Lower trims miss out on some of the richer cabin presentation and larger-screen tech that make the upper trims feel more upscale.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, but it is described as the weakest part of the vehicle. A 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet is optional and is the better choice if you tow.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking, rear emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are standard. Front cross-traffic braking, backup camera washer, and 360-degree cameras are optional on Limited and Overland trims, while Active Driving Assist is standard only on Summit Reserve.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while upper trims move to a 10.1-inch unit. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the lineup, and Uconnect 5 is the operating system.
• Fuel efficiency: 4x4 models with the V6 are rated at 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The V8 returns 14 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is offered in 8 trim levels: Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, Summit Reserve, and the two additional trims explicitly referenced in the equipment descriptions are not named in the source text.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Grand Cherokee L experience with the smaller 8.4-inch touchscreen and 10-inch digital instrument panel. It makes sense if you want the three-row layout and Jeep styling at the lowest starting point, but it leaves out some of the richer tech and luxury touches found higher up.
• Altitude: This trim keeps the same basic tech setup as the Laredo but adds a more dressed-up appearance and a stronger visual presence. It suits you if you want a nicer look without jumping all the way to the pricier comfort-focused trims.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 10.1-inch touchscreen, navigation, and a more upscale feel without going all the way to the luxury end of the lineup. It also opens the door to more available safety and convenience features.
• Overland: This trim is the step up if you want a more premium cabin and more available equipment, including the larger screen and navigation. It fits you best if you want the Grand Cherokee L to feel more upscale without paying Summit money.
• Summit: This is where the Grand Cherokee L starts to feel genuinely luxury-oriented, with the richer interior presentation and advanced tech features that match its premium pricing. Choose it if you want the upscale experience to be a priority.
• Summit Reserve: This is the top-end choice and the one tested here, with the most complete feature set and the strongest luxury presentation. It is the right pick if you want the most fully equipped Grand Cherokee L and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is strongest on the higher trims, and Active Driving Assist is standard only on Summit Reserve.

The current average of $30,961 sits slightly below last year's $31,652.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to sell soon. Even so, the Grand Cherokee L’s strong owner satisfaction and premium positioning should help it stay attractive to future shoppers. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, the combination of demand and brand appeal should support resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 41.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds a strong safety story, including a Top Safety Pick+ result for later-built models.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,739, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $30,961 average.
• It offers a similarly upscale three-row Jeep experience with a premium-feeling cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory, and safety credentials, the 2023 is the better target. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2022 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in excellent condition with the equipment you want.
