Used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L for Sale nearColumbia, SC

How much does the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L cost?

Prices have softened 2.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,663 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L a good car?

Yes — 4.8/5 owners’ rating points to strong satisfaction with this model year. It also earns an expert rating of 8.2/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners repeatedly praise its stylish design, spaciousness, and comfortable features, and they also call out the strong engine performance and towing capability. In testing, it fits well if you want a family-friendly three-row SUV with a premium feel and Jeep’s familiar look and image.

The trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the irritating transmission, so you should expect the best experience when you prioritize comfort, space, and upscale features over outright power.

Only 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centered on comfort, spaciousness, and the kind of SUV buyers can count on for family use. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that this is a solid, composed vehicle with a premium feel, which supports the case for long-term confidence.

Two years of scheduled maintenance come with every 2023 Jeep, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the transmission and powertrain behavior match your expectations before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, because the accident-free share is strong but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the transmission, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear. Focus on condition and build date, especially if you want the safest version of this model year.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Lower trims use an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument panel, while Limited and above get a 10.1-inch touchscreen and full-screen maps on the instrument panel. Base trims also miss some of the richer luxury touches found higher up.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, but it is described as the weakest element. A 5.7-liter V8 with 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet is optional and better suited to towing.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking, rear emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are standard. Front cross-traffic braking, backup camera washer, and 360-degree cameras are optional on Limited and Overland trims.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve get a 10.1-inch unit. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Uconnect 5 is used throughout.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 4x4 setup is rated at 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The V8 drops to 14/22/17.

Which 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is offered in 8 trim levels: Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, Summit Reserve, and the two additional trims referenced in the model’s trim lineup.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point if you want the Grand Cherokee L’s space, style, and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without moving up the price ladder. It makes sense if you want the basics and plan to add options selectively.
• Altitude: This trim builds on the lower-end setup with a more upscale appearance and is a better fit if you want a little more visual polish without jumping to the pricier luxury-focused trims.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 10.1-inch touchscreen and standard navigation, giving you a more complete tech experience without going all the way to the top.
• Overland: Choose this if you want a stronger luxury lean and more available convenience and safety equipment, including optional 360-degree cameras and front cross-traffic braking.
• Summit: This trim is for buyers who want a more premium cabin and higher-end features, including the available night vision system.
• Summit Reserve: This is the most luxurious choice, with the richest feature set and standard Active Driving Assist. It suits you best if you want the most advanced and pampered version of the Grand Cherokee L.

The safety package is strongest on higher trims, where features like night vision and Active Driving Assist become available or standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,663 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,145, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L's resale value?

The current average of $30,642 sits slightly below last year's $31,349.

That decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now if you plan to keep the SUV for several years. For a future seller, the softer pricing trend means you should expect some depreciation pressure in the near term, especially if you buy above the current average.

Even so, the model’s strong demand, premium image, and broad appeal as a three-row SUV help support long-term value. Well-kept examples should remain easier to move than less desirable family SUVs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L safe?

The 2023 Grand Cherokee L scored a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but only for models built after May 2023. It earns five-star ratings in every National Highway Traffic Safety Administration test except rollover, where it scores four-star.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward emergency braking, rear emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are standard. Front cross-traffic braking, backup camera washer, and 360-degree cameras are optional on Limited and Overland trims. Night vision is available only on Summit and Summit Reserve, and Active Driving Assist is standard only on Summit Reserve.

You should verify the build date before buying, because the strongest crash result applies only to vehicles built after the frame reinforcement update.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 brings a Top Safety Pick+ result for later-built models and strong expert marks for safety and technology.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,342, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $30,642 average.
• It offers a polished, upscale three-row SUV experience with premium materials and a luxury-leaning character.

The bottom line: Buy the 2023 if you want the stronger safety story, current-market inventory, and a well-rounded mix of comfort and technology. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better value path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
