How much does the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L cost?

Prices have softened 2.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,629 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L earns a 4.83/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, spaciousness, and comfortable features, and they also call out its strong engine performance and towing capability. In testing, it stands out for great handling, great ride quality, and premium interior materials, which helps explain why it can feel upscale in higher trims. The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the irritating transmission, and the three-row layout is aimed at you if you want a family-friendly SUV with Jeep character rather than a pure off-road machine.

Only 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful comparison shopping.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling SUV, with praise for its comfortable features, spaciousness, and overall solid ownership experience. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Grand Cherokee L is built to feel composed and refined, which supports confidence in day-to-day use. Jeep includes two years of scheduled maintenance with every 2023 model, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained well, since higher-complexity luxury features can be costly if neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, electronics, and interior features, since this model leans heavily on comfort and technology. Focus on condition and build details, especially if you want the strongest safety performance and the best ownership experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Lower trims use an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument panel, while Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve move up to a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation on the instrument panel. Higher trims also bring more premium interior materials and features, while lower trims skip some of those upscale touches.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, but it is the weakest part of the vehicle. A 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet is optional and is the better choice if you tow.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking, rear emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are standard. Front cross-traffic braking, backup camera washer, and 360-degree cameras are optional on Limited and Overland trims, while Active Driving Assist is standard on Summit Reserve only.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims. The lower trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while upper trims get a 10.1-inch screen, and the system runs Uconnect 5.
• Fuel efficiency: 4x4 models with the V6 are rated at 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The V8 drops to 14/22/17.

Which 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is offered in 8 trim levels: Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, Summit Reserve, and the two additional trims explicitly referenced in the equipment descriptions are not named in the source text.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point if you want the Grand Cherokee L’s three-row space, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the core Jeep look without paying for the richer cabin materials and larger screen found higher up.
• Altitude: Choose this if you want a step up in presentation while staying below the more expensive trims. It keeps the same basic tech foundation but adds more visual polish and a more upscale feel.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 10.1-inch touchscreen and standard navigation, plus access to more available safety and convenience upgrades.
• Overland: Pick this if you want a more premium experience without jumping all the way to the top. It builds on the Limited with a richer feature set and is a strong fit if comfort matters most.
• Summit: This trim is for you if you want the luxury-leaning cabin and the most advanced tech without going all the way to the priciest version.
• Summit Reserve: This is the top choice if you want the most complete Grand Cherokee L experience, including the standard Active Driving Assist and the most pampering features.

The safety package is strongest on higher trims, while some features remain optional or trim-specific lower in the lineup.

What is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L's resale value?

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may need to stay competitive if the market remains well supplied. The current range suggests the model is still holding meaningful value, especially for shoppers who want a three-row SUV with premium appeal. Strong equipment, broad demand, and a recognizable nameplate should help support resale interest over time.

Forward emergency braking, rear emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are standard. Night vision is available only on Summit and Summit Reserve, and Active Driving Assist is standard on Summit Reserve only.

You should verify the build date before buying, since the strongest IIHS result applies only to vehicles built after May 2023. Rear side thorax airbags are unavailable, so that is another detail worth weighing if you are comparing safety equipment across trims.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 brings strong handling, great ride quality, and premium interior materials.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,568, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $30,830 average.
• It blends Jeep’s rugged image with a more upscale feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more current shopping environment, the 2023 is the stronger pick. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Grand Cherokee L’s core appeal.
