Used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe for Sale nearSeattle, WA

How much does the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe cost?

Prices have softened 14.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,317 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used examples to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating, it has clear appeal if you want an electrified midsize SUV with real off-road credibility. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe stands out most as an electrified midsize SUV with real off-road credibility, and the Trailhawk 4xe is described as a “rock star when off-roading.” It also brings stylish design, which helps it feel more distinctive than a purely utility-focused SUV.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the powertrain is described as unrefined, electric-only driving range is only adequate compared with other plug-in hybrids, and the Trailhawk’s all-terrain tires compromise on-pavement handling. That makes it a better fit if you value capability and the plug-in hybrid format more than everyday polish.

Good and great deals account for 33.8% of listings, so you can still find competitive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe is positioned as a premium SUV, and its plug-in hybrid setup is meant to reduce reliance on gasoline while preserving Jeep capability. The expert data also notes that the Trailhawk is immensely capable off-road, which supports the idea that this model is built around a clear purpose rather than broad compromise.

The performance notes point to a robust plug-in hybrid system with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a battery pack, and an integrated electric motor. Jeep also says you can recharge the battery overnight using a standard household outlet.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the same hardware that makes it capable can also make it less satisfying if you expect a refined daily driver.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a Trailhawk or a higher-mileage example. Focus on overall condition, because the model’s off-road hardware, premium features, and plug-in hybrid components can make repairs more expensive if something has been neglected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the base trim, 30th Anniversary, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. The Trailhawk stands out with sky blue exterior detailing, a matte-black hood decal, unique wheels, more aggressive all-terrain tires, and the Trail Rated badge, while the cabin is criticized for too much plastic and glossy surfaces that can be hard to read.
• Powertrain: The plug-in hybrid setup pairs a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a battery pack and an integrated electric motor for 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. It also has standard 4WD, a two-speed transfer case, and an EPA-estimated 25 miles of all-electric range with 23 mpg in combined driving.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors. The Trailhawk adds active blind-spot monitoring, while the available Advanced ProTech Group II adds intersection assist, a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, and Night Vision. Jeep Active Drive is unavailable on the Trailhawk.
• Infotainment: The Trailhawk uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, Jeep Connect services, and an Alpine premium sound system. It also includes a 10.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.3-inch front passenger screen.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert data says the Grand Cherokee 4xe delivered 19.3 mpg in testing after the battery was depleted, and Jeep recommends premium fuel for the turbocharged engine.

Which 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is offered in 6 trim levels: base trim, 30th Anniversary, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• base trim: This is the entry point if you want the plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokee experience at the lowest starting price. It gives you the core 4xe formula, but the data points to the Trailhawk and higher trims as the ones with the most distinctive equipment and capability.
• 30th Anniversary: This trim adds a commemorative step up from the base model and helps broaden the lineup for 2023. It makes sense if you want something more special than the entry trim without jumping all the way to the more expensive luxury-focused versions.
• Trailhawk: This is the best fit if you care most about off-road capability. It adds the Trail Rated badge, more aggressive all-terrain tires, active blind-spot monitoring, and the hardware that supports its standout trail performance, but it also brings the compromises in on-road refinement noted in the test data.
• Overland: This is the next step if you want a more upscale Grand Cherokee 4xe without going all the way to the top trims. It should appeal if you want a more premium-feeling setup than the Trailhawk’s rugged focus.
• Summit: This trim moves further into luxury territory and is a better match if you want the Grand Cherokee 4xe to feel more premium than adventurous.
• Summit Reserve: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most upscale version of the lineup. It is the most expensive trim mentioned, so it makes the most sense if you want maximum equipment and are comfortable paying for it.

For safety, the Trailhawk adds active blind-spot monitoring, and the available Advanced ProTech Group II brings intersection assist, a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, and Night Vision.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,317 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,490, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe's resale value?

The current average of $27,490 sits slightly below last year's $32,026.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you may be better protected from further depreciation than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe safe?

The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, and the IIHS says the Grand Cherokee earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating. It also earns four-star ratings for driver protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors. The Trailhawk adds active blind-spot monitoring, and the available Advanced ProTech Group II adds intersection assist, a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, and Night Vision.

One important caveat is the Poor rating in the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test, which the IIHS recorded on a gasoline-powered Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. That result is worth keeping in mind when you’re evaluating used examples.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds new gloss black exterior accents and a new 30th Anniversary model to the lineup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,299, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,490 average.
• It brings a plug-in hybrid powertrain to Jeep’s best-selling SUV while preserving off-road capability.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year mix of softened pricing, strong inventory, and updated trim availability, the 2023 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokee formula.
