What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Genesis G70?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because even a strong accident-free share doesn’t guarantee the specific car you’re considering has a clean past. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage, visible curb rash, uneven tire wear, or signs of hard use. Focus on overall condition, because luxury sedans can hide expensive wear in the brakes, tires, and interior trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Standard models get leatherette seating, heated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror, while higher trims add leather, Nappa leather, ventilated front seats, and a power sunroof.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 252-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder or a 365-horsepower twin-turbo V6, and both use an eight-speed automatic. The V6 is quicker, but it also brings worse fuel economy.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic high beams, rear-seat reminder, safe-exit assist, and Highway Driving Assist. Higher trims can add a blind-spot view camera system and park distance control.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but wireless smartphone mirroring is not available. Bluetooth and SiriusXM are standard, and a head-up display is optional.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder with rear-wheel drive is rated at 25 mpg combined, 21 mpg city, and 31 mpg highway. The V6 with rear-wheel drive is rated at 21 mpg combined, 18 mpg city, and 27 mpg highway.

Which 2023 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Genesis G70 is offered in 3 trim levels: Standard, Sport Prestige, Sport Advanced.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the best-value choice if you want the G70’s core strengths without stretching the budget. You still get the 10.25-inch touchscreen, standard safety tech, heated front seats, and the car’s stylish design and fun driving character.
• Sport Prestige: This is the trim to target if you want the most complete version of the G70. It adds features like Nappa leather upholstery, a surround-view camera system, and Brembo brakes, making it the best fit if you want a more upscale and better-equipped sedan.
• Sport Advanced: This V6-only trim sits between the other two and makes sense if you want the stronger engine with more equipment than the base car, but don’t need the full top-trim treatment.

Safety content points to a generous standard driver-assistance suite, so even the lower trims are well equipped.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Genesis G70?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 814 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,913, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $30,416 sits slightly below last year's $30,733.

That tells you the market has softened a bit, which can work against you if you’re selling soon. If you buy now, you should expect depreciation to remain part of the ownership equation, especially because luxury sedans often lose value faster than shoppers would like.

At the same time, the current pricing suggests the car is already absorbing some of that decline. If you keep the car in strong condition and choose a desirable trim, you may be better positioned when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2023 Genesis G70 earns the IIHS’s highest Top Safety Pick+ award based on the identical 2022 model.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Genesis equips the G70 with a long list of standard driver-assistance features, including forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic high beams, rear-seat reminder, safe-exit assist, and Highway Driving Assist. That gives you a strong safety baseline even before you move up the trim ladder.

One caveat is that Highway Driving Assist still requires active driver supervision, and the lane centering behavior is not as smooth as some rivals. The blind-spot view camera is also available only on certain versions, so you should not assume every used G70 has the same safety hardware.

Should I buy a 2023 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the refreshed design and balanced small-luxury-sedan formula with fun driving manners and approachable tech.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,819, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $30,416 average.
• It adds refreshed styling, improved infotainment, and Highway Driving Assist.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $32,350, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $30,416 average.
• It adds a new, more powerful base engine and stronger overall appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, style, and features, the 2023 is a smart middle ground. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2022 is the value play; if you want the newer powertrain and can spend more, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
