How much does the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E cost?

Prices have softened 3.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,035 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its performance, stylish design, and advanced technology, and they also like the all-wheel-drive capability and quiet, smooth ride. In practical terms, that lines up well with the overview: you’re looking at an electric crossover that aims to blend style, performance, technology, and utility rather than just basic EV transportation.

The trade-offs are familiar ones for this model year: the electric range is viewed as unimpressive, the ride can be choppy, and the cabin would benefit from quicker access to some controls. Even so, 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a vehicle that feels impressive, stylish, and advanced, while also being one that people feel good about living with day to day. That kind of feedback usually matters most when you’re trying to judge whether an EV will feel dependable over time, especially if you plan to keep it for several years.

The expert review also describes the Mach-E as a world-class electric vehicle with strong performance, technology, and utility, which supports the idea that it’s built to be a serious long-term ownership proposition. Ford also notes that the model remains eligible for a federal income tax credit of up to $7,500, which can help offset ownership costs if you qualify.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery, charging behavior, and software-related features have been cared for properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing cars with different mileage, charging habits, or feature sets. Focus on overall condition, software behavior, and whether the car’s equipment matches what you expect from the trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT. The GT stands out with revised bumpers, unique 20-inch wheels, and a more aggressive look, while the Premium trim is the one tied to the higher range figure mentioned in the review. The base Select is the one most likely to leave you checking carefully for feature differences, especially around available driver-assistance equipment.
• Powertrain: You can find single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive setups, with outputs ranging from 266 to 480 horsepower and 317 to 634 pound-feet of torque. The GT uses an extended-range battery and AWD, and Ford says it reaches 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
• Safety package: Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard, along with BlueCruise hands-free highway driving. The review also notes that the surround-view camera and BlueCruise may vary by trim, so verify exactly what’s on the car you’re considering.
• Infotainment: The Mach-E uses a 15.5-inch portrait touchscreen with Sync 4A, over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Range & charging: The review cites up to 290 miles of range for Premium and 312 miles for California Route 1, with the GT rated at 270 miles. It also references an extended-range battery and a 40 kWh/100 mi EPA estimate for the GT, but it does not provide a DC fast-charge time.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, ask how the car was typically charged, and confirm whether it spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. You should also verify how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is offered in 4 trim levels: Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, so it’s the trim to scrutinize most closely for feature gaps. Make sure the specific car you’re looking at has the safety and convenience equipment you want, since some driver-assistance and camera features may vary by trim.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it’s the one specifically called out for up to 290 miles of range. If you want a more balanced mix of range, comfort, and equipment, this is the trim to focus on first.
• California Route 1: This trim is the range-focused choice in the lineup, and the review says it comes only with all-wheel drive and 312 miles of range this year. It’s the one to target if maximizing driving distance matters most.
• GT: This is the performance and style pick. It gets the most aggressive appearance, 480 horsepower, 600 lb-ft of torque, and a 3.8-second 0-60 mph claim, so it suits you best if you want the quickest and most distinctive Mach-E.

Safety-package note: Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard across the lineup, while BlueCruise and the surround-view camera may vary by trim, so confirm equipment before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you should shop with some patience and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,035 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,040, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?

The current average of $29,785 sits slightly below last year's $30,777.

That tells you the market has eased a bit, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less ideal if you’re planning to sell soon. A softer price trend usually means future sellers may need to be more competitive on asking price, especially if similar listings remain plentiful.

Even so, the model’s strong owner satisfaction helps support demand. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E safe?

The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E earns top marks from the IIHS in most assessments, and it was a Top Safety Pick for the 2022 calendar year.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford says Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard across the lineup, along with BlueCruise hands-free highway driving. The review also says BlueCruise 1.2 adds lane-change capability, predictive speed assist, and lane repositioning to give adjacent vehicles more space.

There are a couple of caveats to keep in mind. The review says the Mach-E needs a head-up display, and it also notes that BlueCruise can require more babysitting than you might expect from a hands-free system. For crash testing, the review says NHTSA had not finalized full results at the time, though it did report five-star ratings for side-impact protection and rollover resistance.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ford’s enhanced BlueCruise 1.2 and the updated range figures make this year especially appealing.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $31,680, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $29,785 average.
• Ford adds a new Rally trim and broader upgrades.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because it combines lower pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a healthy used-car market. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model year’s updates and added trim choice, the 2024 is worth a look; otherwise, the 2023 gives you the stronger price-to-feature balance.
