Used 2023 Acura TLX for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2023 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have softened 2.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 563 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Acura TLX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Acura TLX earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

The TLX stands out as a luxury sports sedan that balances style, comfort, and driving enjoyment. Its strengths are especially clear if you want something more engaging than a typical luxury commuter without giving up everyday comfort.

The main trade-offs are poor ergonomic design and a cramped back seat, along with limited cargo space. That means it fits you best if you care more about the front-seat experience and driving feel than rear-seat room or utility.

Good and great deals account for 28.4% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The TLX is presented as a well-rounded luxury sports sedan with strong performance and a comfortable ride, which supports confidence for used buyers who want a premium daily driver. Its expert assessment also points to a compelling blend of style, performance, equipment, and value.

The performance setup emphasizes a turbocharged four-cylinder in most versions, with a turbo V6 in the Type S, and the car is described as fun to drive. Acura also includes two years or 24,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is that the car’s technology and packaging can feel less intuitive and less practical than rivals, so condition and usability matter as much as mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Acura TLX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or shows signs of curb rash, interior wear, or suspension issues. Focus on how the cabin functions in daily use, since the TLX’s controls and packaging can be a bigger part of ownership satisfaction than raw performance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model is the most stripped-down version, while higher trims add features that help offset the TLX’s practical compromises. The base and Technology models come only with FWD, the Advance and Type S models come only with SH-AWD, and only the TLX A-Spec gives you a choice between FWD and SH-AWD.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. The Type S adds a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 355 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, plus performance-focused hardware.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following, and Traffic Jam Assist. Non-base trims also add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: The display is 10.2 inches, and the system uses a touchpad rather than a touchscreen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a three-year AcuraLink subscription are standard, while wireless smartphone charging, navigation, and upgraded audio depend on trim.
• Fuel efficiency: Most versions are expected to return between 24 mpg and 25 mpg in combined driving, while the Type S is estimated at 21 mpg combined and averaged 20 mpg in testing.

Which 2023 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Acura TLX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, and Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the TLX’s core style and performance at the lowest price, but it is also the most limited version. It comes only with FWD and misses the extra convenience and safety equipment that appears on higher trims.
• Technology Package: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds useful equipment without pushing you into the more expensive upper trims. It also stays with FWD, which may suit you if you want the TLX experience without stepping up to SH-AWD.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and the option of SH-AWD. It sits between the value-oriented Technology model and the more premium Advance trim.
• Advance Package: This is the most comfort- and convenience-focused standard TLX trim, and it comes only with SH-AWD. It makes the most sense if you want the most upscale everyday experience short of the Type S.

Choose any TLX except the base model if you want blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Acura TLX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 563 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,239, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $34,535 sits slightly below last year's $35,245.

That softer pricing suggests the TLX has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. A lower entry point can make it easier to hold value relative to what you paid, especially if you shop near the low end of the range.

The market also shows enough inventory to keep pricing competitive, so condition and trim choice matter when you eventually resell. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should be easier to position against other used luxury sedans.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Acura TLX safe?

The 2023 Acura TLX earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA, including a five-star rollover resistance rating and a four-star rating for the front passenger in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control with low-speed following, and Traffic Jam Assist. Non-base trims also add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors.

One caveat is that the front passenger’s frontal-impact rating is lower than the rest of the NHTSA results, so that’s worth keeping in mind when you compare used examples.

Should I buy a 2023 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends style, comfort, and driving enjoyment while keeping strong safety credentials.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $32,176, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $34,535 average.
• It offers road presence, sharp handling, and premium materials at a reasonable premium.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,639, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $34,535 average.
• It adds a handsome new grille and bigger screens while keeping the same chassis and powertrains.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, safety, and the current TLX formula, the 2023 is the primary path to consider. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2022 can deliver much of the same appeal for less money.
