Used 2021 Acura TLX for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2021 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have softened 4.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 697 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Acura TLX a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Acura TLX earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

The TLX is aimed at you if you want a premium-feeling midsize sport sedan with a strong visual identity and a sporty edge. Its new platform, exterior, interior, and powertrain choices help it feel more distinct than before, and the cabin materials and design details support that upscale impression.

The trade-offs are real: the back seat is cramped, the technology is unintuitive, and cargo space is limited. If you care more about style, materials, and driving character than maximum practicality, those compromises may be easier to live with.

Deal availability is 35.7%, so you have a meaningful chance of finding a competitively priced listing.

Is the 2021 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The TLX is built around a new platform and a new-generation powertrain setup, which supports its sense of modernity and refinement. Acura also emphasizes a solid, substantial feel on the road, along with a well-balanced chassis and strong structural rigidity.

Its performance hardware and technology are designed to work in the background, which can help the car feel polished over time. If you want a used premium sedan, the main long-term ownership risk is that a more complex feature set can mean more to evaluate carefully before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Acura TLX?

At 67.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has advanced driver-assistance features or optional equipment. Focus on cabin condition, technology operation, and signs that the car has been used hard or repaired poorly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car starts with a strong design and a 10.2-inch infotainment screen, while higher trims add navigation, premium audio, a head-up display, and more convenience features.
• Powertrain: The TLX uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission, with SH-AWD available across the lineup.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. New-for-2021 features include pedestrian sensing and autonomous emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a driver attention monitor.
• Infotainment: The cabin includes a 10.2-inch landscape-oriented screen, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, SMS text messaging, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Navigation is standard above the base trim level.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates fuel economy at 22 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined for FWD models, and 21/29/24 combined for AWD.

Which 2021 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2021 Acura TLX is offered in 4 trim levels: base TLX, Tech, A-Spec, Advance.

Here's the short version:

• base TLX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core TLX design, the 10.2-inch infotainment screen, and the standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra luxury and convenience upgrades.
• Tech: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation and more of the TLX’s premium tech content without jumping all the way to the sportier or more expensive versions.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a more expressive look and the richer audio setup, since the available ELS Studio 3D system is tied to this trim and above.
• Advance: This is the most comfort- and convenience-focused version, with features like adaptive dampers and a head-up display. It suits you best if you want the most upscale TLX experience.

All TLX models come with AcuraWatch, including adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Acura TLX?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 697 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,371, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $26,921 sits slightly below last year's $28,167.

That softer pricing suggests the TLX has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help demand from shoppers looking for a premium sedan at a lower entry point. For a future seller, that means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than just model-year desirability.

Because the market has already moved down from last year, a clean, well-equipped example should stand out more than a rough one. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Acura TLX safe?

The 2021 Acura TLX has not yet been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but Acura says it is targeting five-star ratings and Top Safety Pick+ recognition.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. The TLX also adds pedestrian sensing and autonomous emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a driver attention monitor for 2021.

Available safety features include rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, and the head-up display. If you want the most complete safety setup, you should pay close attention to which optional features are fitted on the specific car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2021 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Acura’s second-generation TLX brings a new platform, new styling, and new powertrain choices.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $21,691, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $26,921 average.
• It emphasizes engaging driving feel and strong value.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $32,300, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $26,921 average.
• It adds road presence, careful detail, and strong performance appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the newest design and a more distinctive premium-sedan feel, the 2021 is the better target. If price matters most, the 2020 is the value play; if you want to spend more for a slightly more polished market position, the 2022 is the step up.
