Used 2022 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2022 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 9.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,210 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful engine, advanced features, and reliability, and many also like its solid feel and smooth ride. The Tundra’s broad setup of cab and bed combinations makes it especially useful if you want a work-ready truck that can also serve as an everyday family vehicle. The main trade-offs are its high price and the fact that some shoppers may question whether the value fully matches the cost. Even so, it still lands in a market with 37.6% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to reliability, durability, and a truck that owners feel good about keeping for the long haul. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Tundra’s durability and value, along with a loyal owner base that tends to hold onto these trucks for hundreds of thousands of miles. Toyota’s powertrain and chassis updates are aimed at making the truck feel more modern without losing that dependable character. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying a premium for a truck whose condition and maintenance history matter a lot at this price point.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper vehicle-by-vehicle review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the truck’s condition, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with off-road use. Pay close attention to how the truck was equipped, since the 2022 Tundra spans multiple cab, bed, and trim combinations.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tundra’s trim spread ranges from work-focused to luxury-oriented, and the base SR is the most stripped-down version. The 14-inch touchscreen is optional on SR5 and standard on upper grades, while the 8-inch screen is standard on SR and SR5, so lower trims miss some of the cabin wow factor.
• Powertrain: The standard twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 delivers strong output, and the hybrid version adds even more power. Toyota says the gas engine should return 18 mpg city and 23 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive, or 17 mpg city and 22 mpg highway with four-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. Blind-spot monitor is not available on SR and is standard on all other trim levels except SR.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard on SR and SR5, while a 14-inch touchscreen is standard on Limited and above and optional on SR5. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all models.
• Fuel efficiency: Toyota estimates 18 mpg city/23 mpg highway for rear-wheel-drive gas models and 17 mpg city/22 mpg highway for four-wheel-drive gas models.

Which 2022 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, and TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it makes the Tundra’s redesign accessible if you mainly want the new truck’s core capability and standard safety tech. It is the least expensive path into the lineup, but you give up some of the bigger-screen and premium-content appeal found higher up.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it sits in the core of the lineup and is one of Toyota’s volume trims. It also unlocks more equipment flexibility, including the optional 14-inch touchscreen and available packages that help tailor the truck to your needs.
• Limited: This is the trim to target if you want the Tundra’s tech-forward cabin to feel fully realized, since the 14-inch touchscreen is standard here. It suits you if you want a more upscale daily driver without jumping all the way to the luxury-focused upper trims.
• Platinum: This trim leans into a more premium experience and can be paired with a 10.1-inch head-up display package. It makes sense if you want a more polished truck with extra convenience and tech.
• 1794: This is Toyota’s ultimate luxury truck, so it is the right pick if comfort and upscale presentation matter most. It also sits near the top of the lineup and can be equipped with the head-up display package.
• TRD Pro: This is the flagship and the most specialized trim, with FOX shocks and aluminum skid plates. Choose it if you want the most off-road-focused factory setup in the lineup.

Blind-spot monitor is available as part of a package on SR5, and it is standard on all other trim levels except SR.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Tundra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,210 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,942, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $37,942 sits slightly below last year's $41,815.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward from a stronger prior-year level, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper future resale upside if you overpay now. If you buy near the current average or below it, you reduce the chance of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The Tundra’s loyal following and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time, especially for well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2022 Toyota Tundra has not yet received crash-test ratings from IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard on all models and includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The Star Safety System is also standard, along with eight airbags, LATCH connectors on the outboard second-row seats, child-protector rear door locks, a window-lockout control, tire-pressure monitoring, hill-start control, drive-start control, active headrests, and parking support brake with rear cross-traffic alert. Blind-spot monitor is not available on SR and is standard on all other trim levels except SR.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a full redesign with stronger power, more technology, and a modernized cabin.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $38,090, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $37,942 average.
• It offers a simpler, older-school truck formula with proven fundamentals.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,920, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $37,942 average.
• It mainly adds an SX appearance package for the SR5 trim.

The bottom line: If you want the biggest leap in technology and powertrain modernization, the 2022 is the right target. If you are shopping strictly on price, the 2021 can still make sense, but you give up the redesigned truck’s newer feel and features.
