Used 2022 Toyota Sequoia for Sale nearCastle Rock, CO

Is the 2022 Toyota Sequoia a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Sequoia earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It stands out as a classic body-on-frame, three-row, full-size SUV with rear-wheel drive or available four-wheel drive, and TRD Pro models get standard 4WD. That setup makes it a fit for you if you want a large SUV with traditional underpinnings, strong capability, and a straightforward truck-based character.

The trade-offs are clear: you get poor fuel economy and outdated technology, and the interior styling feels dated. Even so, the Sequoia’s practical strengths — especially its cargo space and powerful engine — make it appealing if you value utility and durability over flash. Good and great deals account for 38.6% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sequoia reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2022 Toyota Sequoia is built around a truck-based platform and a familiar V8 powertrain, and the expert review emphasizes durability and longevity as core strengths. Its engine and transmission combination has an excellent reputation for durability and reliability, and Toyota’s standard safety and structural hardware reinforce that sense of toughness.

The Sequoia also benefits from a reputation for lasting construction, with tight assembly and high-quality materials in the cabin. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about mechanical fragility and more about living with an older design that can feel dated and inefficient over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Sequoia?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper report. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and any signs of hard use, especially if the SUV was used for towing or family hauling. Pay close attention to overall condition, since the Sequoia’s age means wear items and cabin condition matter as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Pro, Limited, Platinum, and Nightshade Special Edition give you a wide spread of equipment and appearance choices. The base trim is the most stripped-down, while upper trims add features such as a power liftgate with a power window.
• Powertrain: You get one powertrain option: a 5.7-liter V8 with 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic. It is tuned for durability and towing rather than efficiency.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense P includes pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is standard, and the STAR safety system adds stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, and smart-stop technology.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 7-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. WiFi connectivity and SiriusXM satellite radio are standard too, while Limited adds navigation and a 12-speaker audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Sequoia returns 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway in RWD form, with 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway in 4WD form.

Which 2022 Toyota Sequoia trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Sequoia is offered in 6 trim levels: SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Pro, Limited, Platinum, and Nightshade Special Edition.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Sequoia’s core space, V8 power, and standard safety features at the lowest price.
• TRD Sport: Choose this if you want a slightly more distinctive look and a step up from the base model without chasing luxury features.
• TRD Pro: This is the one to get if you want the most off-road-focused version, with standard 4WD and suspension tuning that enhances its natural trail ability.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful comfort and tech upgrades, including navigation and a 12-speaker audio system.
• Platinum: Pick this if you want the most upscale Sequoia experience and are willing to pay for it.
• Nightshade Special Edition: This is the style pick, with darkened exterior trim and black-painted wheels that give the SUV a more modern look.

Toyota Safety Sense P and blind-spot monitoring are standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get core driver-assistance features.
