How much does the 2022 Toyota Prius cost?

Prices are up 2.01% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 509 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Toyota Prius a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Prius earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive fuel economy, comfortable ride, and practical everyday usefulness. That makes it a strong fit if you want efficient, low-stress transportation rather than a car built around excitement. With 35.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Prius reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes reliability, with drivers describing the Prius as dependable for daily use and especially appealing for long-term ownership. Its reputation for trouble-free efficiency is a major reason shoppers keep coming back to it. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure hybrid-related wear and maintenance history are clean before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Prius?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks the hybrid system, brakes, tires, and overall maintenance records. Pay close attention to condition, because a Prius that has been used heavily for commuting may show wear even if it looks clean on paper. If possible, compare several listings so you can separate a well-kept example from one that only looks like a bargain.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Prius?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 509 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.01% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 78.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,973, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Prius's resale value?

The current average of $23,099 sits slightly above last year's $22,644.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year’s efficiency and practicality. If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, you should have a solid chance of holding onto demand when it’s time to sell. The combination of strong fuel economy and broad shopper appeal helps support pricing stability over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Prius or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.01% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,965, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $23,099 average.
• It emphasizes efficient, low-hassle daily transportation.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,967, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $23,099 average.
• It adds a sleeker design and more power.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want a balance of price, efficiency, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the smarter value play. If you want a newer-feeling Prius and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is the upgrade path to consider.
