How much does the 2022 Toyota Prius cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 562 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Toyota Prius a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Prius earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive fuel economy, comfortable ride, and efficiency-focused ownership experience, while also noting that it works especially well for drivers who want to save at the pump. If you want a practical hybrid for everyday driving, the Prius fits that use case well, even if it is not the most exciting choice. With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Toyota Prius reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes reliability, durability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers valuing how well the Prius delivers dependable hybrid commuting over time. That reputation matters if you want a used car you can count on for daily driving and lower running costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the concept and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Prius?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, because a clean listing percentage does not replace vehicle-specific verification. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check overall condition, maintenance signs, and any wear that could affect long-term ownership. Focus especially on how the car presents mechanically and cosmetically, since a Prius is most appealing when it feels like a dependable, low-hassle commuter.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Prius?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 562 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,935, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Prius's resale value?

The current average of $22,656 sits slightly above last year's $22,593.

That small increase suggests the Prius has held its value fairly well, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand rather than a market that is weakening quickly. Because buyers continue to value efficiency and practicality, a well-kept Prius should remain appealing in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Prius or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,104, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,656 average.
• It emphasizes efficiency and everyday practicality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,704, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,656 average.
• It adds sharper styling and more power.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price stability, strong owner satisfaction, and broad inventory, the 2022 is the primary pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want a newer-feeling Prius and can spend more, the 2023 is the upgrade route.
