Used 2022 Subaru WRX for Sale nearPhiladelphia, PA

How much does the 2022 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 6.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,066 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used WRX options to compare.

Is the 2022 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Subaru WRX earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its thrilling performance, sporty features, and strong value, especially with all-wheel drive. They also highlight its driving sophistication and versatility for both daily commuting and more spirited use. On the downside, some owners mention minor paint damage and occasional slow performance in certain situations.

That lines up with the overview: you get a performance-first sedan that still works as an all-weather daily driver. The market also shows 34.3% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile listings if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car people feel good about living with over time, with repeated praise for its dependable all-wheel-drive character and everyday versatility. The expert drive notes also reinforce that sense of durability by emphasizing the WRX’s improved platform and more forgiving suspension, which help it feel composed on rougher roads.

Subaru also says the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps lower early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the core hardware and more about how hard the car was driven and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru WRX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven aggressively. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could point to hard use. A clean-looking WRX can still hide abuse, so the details matter.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base and Premium trims miss the blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert that come standard on Limited and GT models. Premium-trim and higher WRX models also get the larger 11.6-inch touchscreen, while the base trim uses a dual 7-inch display setup.
• Powertrain: The WRX uses a 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer four-cylinder with 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive comes standard, and you can choose a six-speed manual or a CVT.
• Safety package: EyeSight comes standard on CVT-equipped models and includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic steering assist, and an electronic brake booster. Manual-transmission cars do not get EyeSight, and the Limited and GT add blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Premium-trim or higher models get an 11.6-inch touchscreen. The system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but Android Auto only uses the top half of the screen. Base trims use two stacked 7-inch displays.
• Fuel efficiency: Subaru says the WRX should return 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined.

Which 2022 Subaru WRX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Subaru WRX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Premium, Limited, GT.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the most affordable way into the WRX, but you give up the larger touchscreen and the advanced driver-assistance features that come with higher trims. It makes sense if you want the core WRX experience and plan to keep things simple.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the more impressive 11.6-inch touchscreen and keeps the WRX’s performance focus intact. It also brings the external transmission-fluid cooler, and Subaru expects this trim to be the volume seller.
• Limited: This is the trim to target if safety equipment matters most, because it adds blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. It’s the smarter pick if you want more peace of mind without jumping to the top model.
• GT: This is the most specialized trim, with Recaro seats, electronically controlled dampers, and Drive Mode Select. It’s CVT-only, so it suits you best if you want the most feature-rich WRX and don’t need a manual.

The safety-package gap is important here: EyeSight is standard only with the CVT, while the Limited and GT are the trims that add the extra blind-spot and rear cross-traffic features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,066 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,405, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $25,405 sits slightly below last year's $27,174.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the key is to buy a clean, well-kept example so you’re not competing against cheaper, rougher cars later. A WRX with strong maintenance history and desirable equipment should hold up better than one with signs of hard use.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Subaru WRX safe?

The 2022 Subaru WRX earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

EyeSight is the key driver-assistance suite on CVT-equipped models, and it includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic steering assist, and an electronic brake booster. Manual-transmission cars do not get EyeSight, and the Limited and GT trims add blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.

One important caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup, so the transmission and trim you choose matter a lot.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a more refined powertrain, improved suspension, and upgraded technology.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,368, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $25,405 average.
• It emphasizes everyday engagement and standard all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,467, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $25,405 average.
• It keeps the rally-inspired character and adds the current lineup structure.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated hardware and current-market pricing, the 2022 is the strongest all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the value play; if you want a newer-feeling alternative and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is the next step up.
