Why it stands out
The 2022 Porsche 911 stands as an enduring symbol of sports car excellence, renowned for its balanced performance and everyday usability. Generations of refinement have yielded not just a visually striking design but also an unmatched driving experience. This evolution has made the 911 more approachable without sacrificing its spirited character. Although some drivers note an increase in weight from earlier models, the overall performance remains stellar, enhanced by its iconic rear-engine layout and boxer engine configuration.
This model is available in multiple variants, with the base Carrera offering a rewarding 379 horsepower, while the Carrera S escalates that to 443 horsepower, catering to various driving preferences. The dual-clutch automatic transmission enhances acceleration, while the manual gearbox option appeals to purists seeking more engagement. Notably, the 911 also features a plush interior with top-notch materials, though practicality takes a backseat to performance with limited cargo space. This is my dream car. It has the highest power and speed capabilities in the 911 line up but still great and comfortable for long drives or everyday trips to the market. I drove a 911 Carrera for many years so I was a little surprised it’s so much heavier than the Carrera, about 300lbs more. But it’s also double the horsepower. Needless to say I’m ecstatic to own a 911 Turbo S.
