How much does the 2022 Porsche 911 cost?

Prices are up 2.12% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 942 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Porsche 911 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Porsche 911 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its exceptional performance, sharp handling, stylish design, high-quality interior materials, and strong everyday usability. The overview also frames it as a sports car that blends approachable performance with daily drivability, which helps explain why it appeals beyond pure enthusiasts.

The main trade-offs are limited cargo space and poor value for money, and advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, the 911’s premium cabin and easy-to-live-with character make it a compelling choice if you want a luxury sports car that still works in regular use.

Good and great deals account for 32.1% of listings, so you do have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Porsche 911 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter to owners: it delivers strong performance, holds up as an everyday driver, and inspires confidence through its high-quality build and materials. The expert review also emphasizes that the 911’s performance has been refined over generations, with engineering that has made it much more manageable than earlier versions.

The cost-effectiveness discussion reinforces that the 911 is built around a long-running formula rather than constant reinvention, which can be reassuring if you value proven hardware. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic dependability and more about expensive upkeep and the cost of getting into the right example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Porsche 911?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this is a high-performance car with expensive components. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the car has been used in a way that matches your expectations for a sports car.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Carrera is the entry point, and it comes with standard forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist. The optional Premium package adds adaptive headlights, a surround-view camera system, and blind-spot monitoring, so base cars can feel light on safety equipment.
• Powertrain: The 911 uses a horizontally-opposed six-cylinder boxer engine mounted behind the rear axle. The base Carrera makes 379 horsepower, the Carrera S increases output to 443 hp, and the GTS rises to 473 hp. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission is offered on almost all models, while a seven-speed manual is available on S and GTS models.
• Safety package: Forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist are standard on the base Carrera. The optional Premium package adds adaptive headlights, a surround-view camera system, and blind-spot monitoring. Other options include night vision and an integrated dashcam feature.
• Infotainment: The touchscreen sits lower than in many vehicles, wireless Apple CarPlay is included, and Android Auto still requires a USB cable. The base audio system may disappoint, and the optional Bose system is the recommended upgrade.
• Fuel efficiency: The PDK transmission improves acceleration and fuel efficiency.

Which 2022 Porsche 911 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Porsche 911 is offered in 10 trim levels: Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera S, Carrera 4S, Carrera GTS, Carrera GTS Cabriolet, Turbo, Turbo S, GT3, and Sport Classic.

Here's the short version:

• Carrera: This is the best-value starting point if you want the classic 911 experience without paying for extra power or complexity. It delivers the core rear-engine character, strong everyday drivability, and standard driver-assistance features, while keeping the price at the lowest level in the lineup.
• Carrera 4: Choose this if you want the same entry-level formula with all-wheel drive. It costs more than the Carrera, so it makes the most sense if traction matters more to you than value.
• Carrera S: This is the sweet spot for many shoppers because it adds a meaningful power bump over the base car and can be paired with a manual transmission. If you want more performance without jumping into the expensive upper tiers, this is the trim to target.
• Carrera 4S: Pick this if you want the stronger engine from the S plus all-wheel drive. It suits you if you want a more secure-feeling setup and are willing to pay for it.
• Carrera GTS: This is the best choice if you want a more serious performance edge while still keeping the car usable every day. It brings 473 hp and sits as a middle ground between the Carrera models and the more extreme 911 variants.
• Carrera GTS Cabriolet: Choose this if you want the GTS formula with open-air driving. It gives you the same performance focus with the added appeal of a convertible body style.
• Turbo: This is for you if you want a major jump in performance and are comfortable paying a steep premium. It moves the 911 into much more expensive territory and is best suited to buyers who want serious speed.
• Turbo S: This is the top choice for outright road performance if price is less of a concern. It sits near the top of the lineup and delivers the most extreme street-focused experience among the trims listed here.
• GT3: This is the trim to buy if you care most about track-focused performance. The expert review says the GT3 is best enjoyed on a race track where you can explore its full potential.
• Sport Classic: This is the enthusiast-special choice for buyers who want exclusivity and nostalgia more than value. It sits at the top of the lineup and is priced accordingly.

The safety package is limited compared with conventional sedans and SUVs, and the Premium package is where you pick up several important extras.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Porsche 911?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 942 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.12% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 93.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $211,580, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Porsche 911's resale value?

The current average of $216,054 sits slightly above last year's $211,562.

That upward move suggests the 911 continues to hold buyer interest well, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. The current pricing also sits within a relatively tight year-round range, which points to steady demand rather than dramatic swings. For a future seller, that usually means you can expect the market to remain attentive as long as the car is well kept and properly documented.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Porsche 911 safe?

The Porsche 911 has not been evaluated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), which isn’t unusual for high-end luxury vehicles.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist are standard on the base Carrera. The optional Premium package adds adaptive headlights, a surround-view camera system, and blind-spot monitoring. Other options include night vision and an integrated dashcam feature.

Compared with conventional sedans and SUVs, the 911 offers very few safety features, and that limited equipment list is part of the trade-off you make for its sports-car focus.

Should I buy a 2022 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.12% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 911 balances approachable performance with everyday drivability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $219,223, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $216,054 average.
• It adds several new variants, broadening the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the better value proposition, the 2022 is the smarter starting point because it already delivers the core 911 experience with strong owner satisfaction and solid market demand. If you’re willing to pay more for a broader lineup and newer-year variety, the 2023 is the better path.
