Is the 2022 MINI Countryman a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2022 MINI Countryman blends MINI’s retro personality with the practicality of a small SUV, giving you more rear passenger space and cargo capacity than MINI’s smaller vehicles while keeping the brand’s sporty character. It also appeals if you want a premium image with a playful interior and a wide range of powertrain choices, though you should expect a stiff ride and less cargo room than some rivals. With 33.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2022 MINI Countryman reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 MINI Countryman is described as a second-generation model with a distinctive mix of personality and usefulness, and it keeps the quirky interior design that helps define the nameplate. Its appeal comes from style, fun-to-drive character, and a premium feel rather than from being the most conventional small SUV in the class. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its firmer ride and less practical packaging than some rivals may matter more as mileage and daily use add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 MINI Countryman?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report so you can confirm the car’s accident record and ownership background. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the ride quality, interior condition, and any signs that the vehicle has been used hard, since this model is known for a firmer ride. Focus on overall condition and how well the cabin and controls have held up, because that will matter more than a simple mileage check alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 MINI Countryman?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 254 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,869, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 MINI Countryman's resale value?

The current average of $21,282 sits slightly below last year's $22,554.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can make future resale a little more sensitive to condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. If you buy at the right price now and keep the vehicle in strong shape, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell. The Countryman’s distinctive styling and broad appeal can help keep interest steady, especially among shoppers who want something different from a conventional compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 MINI Countryman or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a smart choice if you want the Countryman’s retro style, premium feel, and practical small-SUV layout, especially since pricing has softened and inventory is available. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a similar example offers a lower entry price, but the 2022 remains a strong pick when you want the balance of personality and usefulness.
