Used 2022 Lexus ES for Sale nearNew York, NY

How much does the 2022 Lexus ES cost?

Prices have softened 1.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 886 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus ES earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, reliable performance, and luxurious feel, and many also point to the car as a strong fit for safety-conscious buyers. The quiet cabin and multiple powertrain choices add to its appeal, especially if you want comfort and efficiency in a traditional midsize sedan.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling is uninspired, performance is fairly pedestrian, and the base engine is underwhelming. That makes it a better match if you value serenity and refinement more than sharp responses or standout design.

The overall market picture is still healthy, with 39.7% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as reliable and trouble-free, and the feedback also points to dependable performance over time. The expert notes reinforce that impression by emphasizing the car’s smooth, predictable driving character and its ability to cruise comfortably without drama.

Lexus also includes service reminders through its connected services, which can help you stay on top of scheduled maintenance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about finding a well-kept example with consistent maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus ES?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, even if it looks clean on paper. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of prior bodywork or interior wear.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base setup is the entry point, while higher trims add more luxury and convenience equipment. The biggest feature gaps show up in the infotainment and comfort equipment, so compare the standard cabin against the upgraded versions carefully.
• Powertrain: You can choose among a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with AWD, a 3.5-liter V6, or a hybrid setup. The four-cylinder is the least satisfying to drive, while the hybrid stands out for efficiency.
• Safety package: Every ES includes Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 with pre-collision braking and pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign assist, Enhanced Lane-Tracing Assist, adaptive cruise control, and Intelligent High Beam Control. Standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also included.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Upper trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch screen, navigation, and Mark Levinson audio.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder AWD model is rated at 25 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, while the V6 returns 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. The hybrid is the efficiency leader at 43 mpg city and 44 mpg highway.

Which 2022 Lexus ES trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus ES is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Luxury, F Sport, Ultra Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the most affordable way into the ES, and it gives you the core comfort, safety, and infotainment features without stretching the budget. It makes sense if you want the ES experience first and foremost.
• Luxury: This is the best-value choice if you want a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top of the range. It adds more comfort and convenience equipment while staying focused on the ES’s core strengths.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportier appearance and a more aggressive personality, but keep in mind the car still leans toward comfort rather than true performance.
• Ultra Luxury: This is the pick if you want the most premium ES experience and are willing to pay for it. It suits you best if comfort and equipment matter more than value.

Upper trim levels get the larger touchscreen and more advanced audio, and some safety and parking features become standard as you move up the range.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong safety scores with a broad mix of powertrains and comfort-focused appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,880, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $34,064 average.
• It emphasizes comfort, quietness, and everyday refinement.

The bottom line: You should choose the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, safety, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the better value play, especially if you’re mainly after comfort and a relaxed driving experience.
