How much does the 2022 Kia EV6 cost?

Prices have softened 6.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 650 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia EV6 earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, smooth ride, powerful performance, and advanced safety features. The EV6 also stands out for its spacious interior and impressive technology, which helps it feel more upscale and distinctive than many rivals.

The main trade-offs are its unimpressive electric range and limited cargo space, and the expert review also points to weak value for the money. In practical terms, this is a strong fit if you want a fun-to-drive EV with a premium feel and you can live with the compromises in range and utility. The market backs that up with 36.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback also points to a reliable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers describing the EV6 as something they enjoy living with over time.

The expert review reinforces that dependability angle by emphasizing how quickly and smoothly the EV6 responds in daily driving, with power delivery that feels immediate and controlled. It also notes that the car can be charged at home every day, which fits the ownership pattern many EV shoppers want.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term risk is not mechanical complexity so much as battery-related wear and real-world range loss, especially if the car has seen frequent fast charging or harsh weather.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia EV6?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on battery condition, charging behavior, tires, brakes, and any signs of uneven wear. For an EV like this, you should also pay close attention to how the car has been used, especially whether it has spent most of its life charging at home or relying heavily on DC fast charging.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Light trim is the least desirable choice because it has the small battery pack and undersized single motor, while the Wind RWD is the better starting point if you want a more balanced setup. The GT-Line adds more equipment, including evasive steering assist and more advanced adaptive cruise behavior, but it costs more.
• Powertrain: The base setup uses a single motor with 167 hp, while higher-output single-motor versions use the larger battery and 225 hp. Dual-motor versions add all-wheel drive and stronger acceleration, with the tested GT-Line e-AWD making 320 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist is standard on the base Light trim and includes lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. Front parking sensors come on the Wind RWD trim, while the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras.
• Infotainment: The EV6 uses dual 12-inch screens, and the system includes navigation and a wireless charger. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included; the projection systems require a wired connection. Higher trims can add a 14-speaker Meridian stereo and a remote parking system.
• Range & charging: The base battery is 58 kWh, and the car can accept up to 240 kW on DC fast charging. The expert review also notes that Kia claims up to 217 miles of range added in 18 minutes under ideal conditions.
• Battery health: For a used EV, you should ask for battery state-of-health information if available, review charging history, and confirm whether the car has mostly been charged at home or frequently on DC fast chargers. You should also check how much of the battery warranty remains and make sure the car still delivers the range you expect in real-world use.

Which 2022 Kia EV6 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia EV6 is offered in 4 trim levels: Light, Wind RWD, Wind AWD, GT-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Light: This is the entry trim, but it is the one the expert review specifically discourages because of its small battery pack and undersized single motor. It still gets the standard Highway Driving Assist suite, so it covers the basics, but it is not the best value if you want the EV6 experience at its best.
• Wind RWD: This is the best-value starting point because it moves you away from the base trim’s compromises and gives you a more acceptable single-motor setup with the larger battery. It is the trim to focus on if you want a better balance of price, range, and everyday usability.
• Wind AWD: Choose this if you want all-wheel drive and the added hardware that comes with it, including automatic rear braking and 360 cameras. It is the better pick if you want more confidence and convenience features without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• GT-Line: This is the most feature-rich version in the data, adding evasive steering assist and more advanced adaptive cruise behavior. It suits you best if you want the most technology and the strongest performance-oriented feel.

The safety package starts with Highway Driving Assist on the Light trim, while the Wind AWD and GT-Line add more advanced features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia EV6?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 650 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.84% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,559, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia EV6's resale value?

The current average of $22,529 sits slightly below last year's $24,184.

That decline suggests the EV6 has become more affordable in the used market, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure resale returns if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the original average. The current range also shows that well-priced examples are still moving within a fairly tight band, which is a good sign for market stability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 safe?

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The EV6 has no published test results from any government or independent agency in the U.S. Even so, it comes standard with Highway Driving Assist on the base Light trim, along with lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert.

Front parking sensors come on the Wind RWD trim, while the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras. The GT-Line adds evasive steering assist and more advanced adaptive cruise behavior. For used buyers, that means the safety story is strong on equipment, but you should still verify exactly which trim and driver-assistance features are on the car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia EV6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model stands out for its fresh design, strong tech, and fun-to-drive character, but it also carries the same range and cargo-space compromises that show up in the expert review.

The bottom line: if you want the EV6’s distinctive styling and lively driving feel, the 2022 is a compelling choice, especially with prices down from last year. If you are more price-sensitive, you should shop carefully and compare listings across nearby model years to see whether a newer example gives you better equipment or value for only a modest premium.
