CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Kia EV6
overall

Summary
With 577 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,218.00, 34.5% of 2022 Kia EV6s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Kia EV6 4.6 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.67 / 10.
90.5% of 2022 EV6 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Kia EV6 stands out as Kia’s first ground-up EV, and it makes a strong impression by breaking away from the brand’s usual affordable, cost-conscious image. It is described as a $60,000 electric performance car that can genuinely compete with a Tesla Model 3 on tech, style, acceleration, and charging time. That combination of fresh thinking and performance-oriented character gives it a distinctive place in the EV market.
It also brings several clear strengths to the table: stylish design, impressive technology, and a fun-to-drive personality. Owners echo that appeal by praising its smooth ride, powerful performance, stylish design, spacious interior, and advanced safety features. Those positives help explain why the EV6 feels so unusual and exciting.
The tradeoffs are just as important, though. The EV6 is held back by unimpressive electric range, and it is also noted for not having much cargo space. Some owners likewise feel the pricing may not fully justify the features offered, so while the 2022 Kia EV6 is compelling and innovative, it is not without practical compromises.

The lovely ‘22 Kia EV6 GT-Line has great features beautifully lit by the interior leds. It is a comfortable ride with a luxurious ambience. The backseat is spacious and the trunk fits a wheelchair with the seats reclined back. The car has helpful emergency braking, precise perimeter alerts, smart adaptive cruise control, seamless lane changing and stable lane keeping capability. We receive lots of compliments. Charging is very convenient.

| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $23,300 |

| Year-Round High | $25,368.32 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $25,377 |

Prices have softened 8.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 592 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare. If you find a listing below $20,685.04, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2022 Kia EV6 a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Kia EV6 earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, powerful performance, and stylish design, and they also call out the spacious interior and advanced safety features. That lines up with the EV6’s use case as a tech-forward electric performance car that feels more distinctive than a typical mainstream EV. The main trade-offs are unimpressive electric range and limited cargo space, and the pricing may feel steep relative to what you get. Even so, 33.3% of listings are good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Kia EV6 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback points to a reliable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly emphasizing the EV6’s smooth, confident day-to-day behavior and the sense that it’s a car you can count on. The expert evaluation also describes it as a well-integrated EV with strong performance and useful technology, which supports the impression of solid dependability. Kia also includes a first scheduled maintenance visit on the house. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is less about mechanical drama and more about whether the battery range and charging experience fit your routine.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia EV6?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing cars with different charging habits or winter use. Focus on battery health, charging performance, tire wear, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you’re considering. Because this model’s appeal depends so much on tech and range, condition and feature content matter more than usual.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base Light trim is the one to watch most closely because it starts with the smallest battery pack and undersized single motor, while the Wind and GT-Line bring more desirable hardware and features.
- Powertrain: The base setup uses a 58-kWh battery and 167 hp, while higher-output single-motor versions use the larger battery with 225 hp; dual-motor versions deliver 320 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque.
- Safety package: The standard suite includes lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. Front parking sensors come on the Wind RWD trim, while the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras.
- Infotainment: You get dual 12-inch screens, navigation, and a wireless charger, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require a wired connection. Higher trims add a 14-speaker Meridian stereo and remote parking.
- Fuel efficiency: Cold-weather range was disappointing, with the EV6 delivering only 65% of Kia’s 274-mile EPA estimate in one test. The car also showed an estimated 249 miles of range after charging to 95 percent on a warm day.
Which 2022 Kia EV6 trim should I buy?
The 2022 Kia EV6 is offered in 4 trim levels: Light, Wind RWD, Wind AWD, GT-Line.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The Light trim is the least appealing choice because it lacks the larger battery and stronger motor setup, and it’s the one explicitly called out for its small battery pack and undersized single motor.
- Sweet-spot trim: The Wind RWD is the best value starting point because it moves you into the larger battery and higher-output single-motor setup without jumping all the way to the pricier dual-motor versions.
- Premium/top trim: The GT-Line adds the most desirable luxury and tech touches, including the 14-speaker Meridian stereo, remote parking, evasive steering assist, and the more advanced adaptive cruise behavior.
- Off-road trim: None of the trims are positioned as an off-road choice here.
The standard safety package starts on the Light trim, and the Wind AWD and GT-Line add more advanced driver-assistance features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia EV6?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.
- Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 592 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.18% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 90.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $20,685.04, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Kia EV6's resale value?
The current average of $23,300 sits slightly below last year's $25,377.
That price movement suggests the EV6 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside left than a buyer who paid closer to original pricing. The model’s distinctive styling and strong tech appeal should help keep it relevant with shoppers who want an EV that feels different from the usual choices.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Kia EV6 safe?
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The EV6’s standard driver-assistance suite includes lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. Front parking sensors come on the Wind RWD trim, while the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras, and the GT-Line adds evasive steering assist plus a more advanced adaptive cruise system. The available tech is strong, but there are no published U.S. crash test results from government or independent agencies here, so you should lean on the equipment list rather than crash scores.
Should I buy a 2022 Kia EV6 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.18% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2022 EV6 stands out as Kia’s first ground-up EV, with standout style, tech, and performance.
The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive version of this EV6 formula and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for range, charging, and trim content, the 2022 model is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, the softer market and decent deal availability make it worth waiting for the right listing rather than paying up for the first one you see.
