Used 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L for Sale nearPhiladelphia, PA

How much does the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L cost?

Prices have softened 12.58% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,640 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating, which points to a strong overall reception. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its luxury features, spaciousness, and driving experience, and they also like the power of the engine and the stylish design. On the downside, some owners mention front-seat comfort and the brightness of the touch screen at night.

From the expert side, the cabin materials and ride quality stand out, but the base engine feels underpowered and the vehicle can be noisy. If you want a three-row SUV that leans upscale and polished rather than purely rugged, this one fits that brief well.

Good and great deals account for 38.6% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its luxury features, spaciousness, and driving experience. That kind of feedback matters when you’re looking for a used SUV you can count on over time.

The expert evaluation also supports that impression by emphasizing the Grand Cherokee L’s composed chassis and polished road manners. Jeep’s three years of service and Jeep Wave benefits add a little ownership reassurance as well.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for well, since comfort and electronics concerns can matter more as mileage climbs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping higher-mileage examples or a vehicle with a lot of equipment. Focus on overall condition, because this SUV’s appeal depends heavily on how well the cabin, electronics, and ride quality have held up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Laredo is the entry point, while higher trims add more upscale materials and features; lower trims get simpler six-speaker or nine-speaker audio, while Summit and Summit Reserve bring more premium touches.
• Powertrain: Two familiar engines are available: a 3.6-liter V6 or a 5.7-liter V8, both paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The V6 returns 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined, while the V8 is rated at 14/22/17.
• Safety package: Adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors come standard. Automatic parking, front cross-traffic alert, driver attention monitor, and traffic sign recognition are standard on Summit trims and optional on Overland.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Jeep added an optional 10.3-inch passenger display plus optional dual 10.1-inch rear screens with Amazon Fire TV.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 is rated at 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, while the V8 is rated at 14 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.

Which 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L trim should I buy?

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is offered in 5 trim levels: Laredo, Overland, Summit, Summit Reserve, and Trailhawk.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the value-minded starting point if you want the Grand Cherokee L’s space and upscale design without paying for the highest-end extras. It still gives you the core three-row layout and the standard safety and tech features, but it’s the trim where the simpler audio setup and fewer luxury touches are most noticeable.
• Overland: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more premium feel and unlocks the off-road-oriented hardware mentioned in the test-drive data. If you want the strongest blend of comfort, capability, and equipment without jumping all the way to the top trims, this is the one to focus on.
• Summit: This trim leans hard into luxury and convenience, adding features like automatic parking, front cross-traffic alert, driver attention monitoring, and traffic sign recognition. It suits you if you want a more fully loaded daily driver and are willing to pay for the extra polish.
• Summit Reserve: This is the most upscale mainstream choice, with the 19-speaker McIntosh stereo and the richest interior presentation. It makes sense if you want the most premium cabin experience and don’t mind paying for it.
• Trailhawk: This is the trim to choose if you care most about off-road hardware and the Trail-Rated badge. It’s the most specialized version here, so it fits best if your priorities lean toward capability rather than pure luxury.

The safety package starts with standard driver aids, while the more advanced convenience and safety features move up the trim ladder.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,640 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,227, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L's resale value?

The current average of $27,227 sits slightly below last year's $31,144.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may temper near-term resale expectations if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price now, you reduce the chance of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

The good news is that a well-regarded model with strong owner satisfaction can still hold demand better than a less desirable alternative. Trim, condition, and equipment will matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L safe?

The 2022 Grand Cherokee L has not yet been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes driver and passenger knee airbags, a rear seat alert for possible unattended passengers, trailer sway control, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors. Higher trims add features such as automatic parking, front cross-traffic alert, driver attention monitoring, and traffic sign recognition.

Should I buy a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It combines a more upscale cabin with wireless smartphone integration and a composed ride.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $25,378, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $27,227 average.
• It introduced the three-row Grand Cherokee L formula.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,479, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $27,227 average.
• It keeps the Jeep formula while leaning more toward comfort.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want the current-year balance of price, features, and owner satisfaction. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2021 is the cheaper path into the same basic idea, while the 2023 makes more sense only if you’re willing to pay extra for a newer model year.
