Used 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 for Sale nearBaltimore, MD

How much does the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 cost?

Prices have softened 7.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 683 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 9.00/10. The model scores 10/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the Ioniq 5 for its smooth drive, luxurious feel, and great features. Value for money is another recurring theme, especially compared with similar electric models, and the cabin’s spaciousness helps reinforce its everyday appeal.

The main trade-offs are its potentially polarizing design and fairly pedestrian performance. That fits the vehicle’s broader mission: it’s aimed at buyers who want a distinctive EV with comfort, features, and mainstream pricing rather than outright speed.

With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels smooth, dependable, and easy to live with over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes a quiet, composed driving experience and a design that prioritizes everyday usability, which supports the impression of trouble-free ownership.

The charging and maintenance experience is also helped by Hyundai’s fast-charging capability and the included two-year fast-charging benefit mentioned in the expert review. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery and charging history are healthy, since EV ownership depends heavily on how the car was treated and charged.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on an EV where charging habits and battery condition matter. Focus on overall condition, charging-port health, tire wear, and whether the car has been used mostly for home charging or frequent fast charging.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes SE, SEL, and Limited. The base setup is well equipped, but higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment, and the top trim brings the most premium features.
• Powertrain: Rear-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available. The single-motor rear-drive setup delivers 225 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque in extended-range form, while AWD uses a dual-motor system with 320 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque. Range drops from 303 miles in RWD form to 256 miles with AWD.
• Safety package: Hyundai SmartSense is standard and includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and front- and rear-collision avoidance. Hyundai Highway Drive Assist I is also standard, bringing adaptive cruise control with stop & go.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses dual 12.3-inch screens, and the system includes over-the-air updates, a digital key, enhanced smartphone pairing, and voice recognition.
• Range & charging: The extended-range RWD model offers 303 miles of range, and the AWD version is rated at 256 miles. The battery can reach 80 percent in 18 minutes on a 350-kW charger, and a full charge takes about 6 hours and 43 minutes on standard charging.
• Battery health: Check the battery state of health, confirm normal charging behavior, and ask how often the car has relied on DC fast charging versus home charging. Also verify how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection you still have.

Which 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the Ioniq 5’s core strengths without paying for extras. It still gives you the model’s standout EV hardware and charging capability, so it makes the most sense if you care most about range, tech, and price.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more convenience and everyday usability while staying below the top trim. If you want a more complete feature set without jumping all the way to luxury territory, this is the one to target.
• Limited: This is the trim to choose if you want the most premium experience, including the richest equipment list and the available head-up display with augmented reality overlays. It suits you best if you want the most upscale version and are willing to pay for it.

Hyundai SmartSense is standard across the lineup, so you get the core safety suite even if you stay with the lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 683 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.56% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,659, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5's resale value?

The current average of $22,359 sits slightly below last year's $24,188.

That decline suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can work in your favor if you’re buying now but may pressure future resale if you plan to sell soon. For a seller, the key takeaway is that pricing needs to stay competitive, especially against the year’s lower-end listings.

Even so, the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal help support demand. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 does not have crash-test ratings listed here.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai SmartSense is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and front- and rear-collision avoidance. Hyundai Highway Drive Assist I is also standard, adding adaptive cruise control with stop & go.

A notable strength is that these safety features are standard rather than reserved for higher trims, which makes the Ioniq 5 easier to recommend if safety equipment matters to you. The expert review also notes that the available augmented-reality head-up display can be distracting, so that’s worth evaluating carefully if you’re considering a higher trim.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out as Hyundai’s debut EV from its dedicated battery-electric sub-brand, with standard advanced safety, strong tech, and mainstream pricing.

The bottom line: If you want the first-year version of Hyundai’s dedicated EV effort, the 2022 is a compelling buy because it combines strong owner satisfaction, excellent tech, and a softer price trend. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the market for the best deal and focus on clean-history listings with healthy battery and charging records.
